Brought mom as they had the beef barley let soup on the menu, her favorite! She thoroughly enjoyed it and said it was as close to her mother's recipe as she has ever tasted! She used to come here as a little girl when she lived in the neighborhood and her grandmother would get black raspberry ice cream (Not in the menu now). The root beer and root beer floats were great too. The hamburgers and fries were good. They have so much variety at such reasonable prices.

A Racine staple. In my opinion it’s 1 of the 2 best burger places in Racine as far as value and authenticity. I was told to add $.50 to anything with meat because of COVID. Not sure how long this weird extra charge will last but be prepared because they only accept cash. (There is an ATM with a fee). Always a solid bet to eat here. Never been disappointed.

If you’re looking for a good old-fashioned burger, classic sandwich or a filling breakfast, and waitresses that just want to see a smile on your face, this is the place to stop. The food was good and very reasonably priced. The waitresses make sure you have what you need and swing by often with smiles on their faces.

Reviews prior to 2025 should not count in this as this restaurant has new owners. This used to be a great place to go to for 40 years. Earlier this year (2025) it changed to new owners and they don't treat the wait staff good at all. My favorite dish there was biscuits and gravy - it took the owners 2 months to figure out how to cook that. They now take credit cards and the owner told the waitresses to figure out the new POS system themselves - would not train them at all, while yelling at one of them about a receipt. Not good. Several key waitresses quit from the abuse and stress, and they were there for many years. So sad - we found a new place to go because it's turning it into another Greek style place. Plenty of that bad cooking around town for sure. If you want compressed hamburgers and fast-cooked frozen food, this is the...

Great mom and pop spot. I love their burgers, chicken BLT, wings, staff is always friendly, been a customer over 20 years.

However!!!! I was there on 5/1/23 and after I was done eating my delicious burger and fries, I noticed a lady re-filling the ketchup containers, NO GLOVES AND A BANDAID ON HER HAND, she wiped the excess ketchup that fell outside the bottle with her plain fingers and rubbed the ketchup off into the containers (at least 4)!!!! Even the big container she was pouring out of! I was Soooo disgusted my food didn't even settle right. She went back to normal after and handled cash etc without ONCE washing her hands, then complained about the $2 tip I left, I could've left her a verbal tip on using gloves and proper food...

Last couple of times I have been here with the new ownership the food and service has been subpar. Ordered a grilled Reuben sandwich, which used to be stacked high with house made corned beef and looked fresh...the one I got the other day the corned beef looked gray, old, and the size of the sandwich was about half the size they used to serve. Plus it was BARELY grilled. I also ordered the deluxe patty melt...woefully undersized and under grilled. Horrible and will not be returning...used to love everything about this place, now I will avoid it like the plague and won't recommend to anyone. Such a shame...another user said it best, "turning into another Greek style place. Plenty of that bad cooking around...
