Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Rahway

Saturday, August 30, 2025 I returned to the site to get more Rita's before the end of the season. The young lady who helped me today was the same woman from the incident a couple of months ago. She was very professional. She was very kind and it invoked me to tell her that I own up to my part of the mishap before. I played a part in not being clear and assuming they knew what I wanted them to do. So. I apologize for that and I just think that this is important to post because we're all human. We're all learning and we should all give each other. Grace. I changed my review to a five star.

In hindsight, I could have handled my part better by clearly communicating beforehand which coupon I intended on using therefore minimizing missteps. 🙏🏽 I had a disheartening experience today. The young woman who took my order used the wrong reward in my app. When I explained her error, another worker told me I needed to take it up with the corporate office. Update: I came back to this location couple weeks after my original review and they still don’t have the coconut cream flavor. So after this time anytime I was in the area I actually called the store and they still don’t have it. They are operating the business without all the flavors that they are supposed to have. I call and they don’t have it ever. I have adjusted my ratings accordingly. I’m not wasting any more time with this location.

I really do not like the flavor cotton candy. It tastes like sugar water. I asked for the cherry flavor it was the same. The intensity of the flavors are better in the "Real Italian Icee sold on the streets of NYC and in the Pizza shops. Rita's is overrated in my opinion. I am not impressed at all.
