I dislike when so-called “authentic” mexican joints charge over $2.50 for a taco and it includes dry sub-par meats, shredded lettuce, cheddar, and sour cream. It’s an exploitative move to cater to the dull American palates. Chilango is NOT that place.
I like taco trucks, but they’re usually skimpy on ingredients and you can never be sure about them. Some trucks have they’re sanitation rating covered up with a menu or something.
Imagine authentic Mexican street tacos with generous amounts of dripping juicy fresh meats for only $2.29 and a 99.1 sanitation rating. Look no further. Their veggie and salsa bar let’s you pile on as much onions, cilantro, salsa, you name it, as you want. Grab as many lime slices as your heart desires and drench that puppy. It’s such a generous format and you never feel it in the wallet.
They’re mouthwatering horchata is bottomless for one price too!
The staff is so great, super friendly and helpful. They’ve even taught me how to order in Spanish. If you do go to Chilango, do them justice and tip big.
Do yourself a favor and don’t just stick to classic pollo or asada. Although that wouldn’t be a mistake. Try the cabeza (beef head), chorizo (sausage), pastor with pena (seasoned pork with pineapple), or some of the best suadero (beef rib meat) in town. It’s all melt in your mouth delicious.
This place has become dear to me. It’s how every good food joint...
Read moreTake it from me, I am a connoisseur of everything Mexican, "From head to toe", says my wife! La Comida Aqui es muy Sabroso! From the Barbacoa (Weekends) to the Tortas, everything was great! The carnitas meat was so tender and juicy. My wife (Mexicana) is so picky when it comes to eating Mexican Food out in restaurants! That said, she had the Consume con Barbacoa and absolutely loved it! The Cilantro looked fresh picked (Not wilted like so many placed) and the chopped onions wete pristine white, with no yellowing or signs of being old. Sorry for this long review, but I keep thinking of good things to say about this place. We just happened to stop in there randomly, since our car (In a car wash) wasn't ready to be picked up yet. I highly recommend that you support this small business and enjoy great food while doing so!

Read moreAmazing food and a local family feel. Staff was super friendly and helpful in making a decision on what to get. The tacos with pork came with pineapples and even though I wasn't sure about that, it was delicious! I also had the chicken tacos with cilantro and cucumber slices and it was just as good.
Only things of note that aren't negatives for me but might be for others visiting:
The menu is completely in Spanish with a few English translations. I didn't have an issue ordering as a non-spanish speaker, so I feel that this isn't a negative.
The portion sizes are not typical American portions. The tacos were in 6 inch corn tortillas and are sold individually. That being said, for $10, you can get 4 tacos and that was...
