Today I ordered a family meal chicken deal and for dessert, 5 apple turnovers. Within 20 minutes or so they handed us our order and we exited the store to continue running errands before going home. I went to pick up prescriptions on the way home and noticed my bag was wet. Based on how they packaged the order, the styrofoam container with our string beans had been crushed and had leaked inside of the bag. As I was trying to clean up the mess, I noticed they forgot to include our apple turnovers in the bag. I had to go all the way back to the New Bern Ave. location from Garner NC.
Needless to say, I was not very happy with what had just happened. Once we entered the store with our food in wet boxes in our hands, the cashier that initially waited on us recognized us and immediately got up from her lunch break to go back and give us what was missing out the bag. After explaining to the young lady what had just happened with the food leakage, etc the manager overheard us and had us come to the front of the line. She then began to apologize for what had happened with them leaving the pies out of our order as well as the improper packaging of the items which caused the chicken boxes to crush the vegetable container causing it to leak inside of the bag.
The manager took it upon herself to repackage our food and as a courtesy gave us a half of gallon of sweet tea and a half of gallon of lemonade for our inconveniences. She was very concerned about our satisfaction as long time customers and turned a frustrating experience into a satisfactory ending.
It wasn't until we got home that we realized we had still been shorted a pie but needless to say everything was okay anyway because four pies were all we needed as it turned out. Due to the manager and her staff's excellent customer service skills we were very satisfied and there was no need to go any further with a complaint.
My overall experience was good, now with that being said I'm only giving a 4 out of 5 because I had to go back and we were so far away, but the MOD, Tiwala, I think that's her name was so professional and customer service driven that she made all the difference...
Read moreWell, if you've ever been inside of a Church's Chicken then you'll know what to expect as far as the general appearance from the dining room to the kitchen / prep area. Had the floor in the prep area been a bit cleaner, I would have given them a "5 Star" rating. Within seconds of me entering the building, I was greeted by a very friendly cashier who politely took my order and actually kept a smile on my face the whole time because of her fired up personality!
The cook had his area stocked with more chicken that I've ever seen before in any churches restaurant even from the time when I used to work at a Church's Chicken 30 some years ago in Durham. I noticed that they had a new item on the menu called, "Smokehouse Chicken" which in all my years of patronizing this chain, I had never tasted this type of chicken from a Church's franchise or anyother fast food restaurant. It was also competitively priced at $5.00 and it includes an half of a chicken (4 pieces), an individual side of your choice and a biscuit. For an dollar extra, you could get a medium sized drink.
So listening to the cashier, she persuaded me to try it. Well, the rest was history! That was by far some of the best rotisserie-style chicken I've ever tasted!!! Even down to the breast which with most roasted / rotisserie chicken is very dry but this half of a bird was moist from the first bite all the way to the last bite! If you don't believe me, ask my girlfriend! She actually finished the rest of it off for me, lol!
So hats off to the Church's Chicken on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, NC! I can't wait to try the new, "Bourbon Black Pepper Smokehouse Chicken" which is coming June 25th!
In conclusion: I've eaten there in the past and based on my experience I will continue to eat there in the future hopefully not as much though because I'm in the gym now and I'm trying to...
Read moreGhetto as HELL! Waited for 15 minutes. My food was hot once I received it but an employee off the street in her street clothes, came to the register, she had on a red bandana while she acknowledged she washed her hands and she didn't try to fix any customers food, she was allowed to get her some food. She paid for it 1st, then got the tongs and her food, after touching the money. I should have left then. Next, a gentleman in front of the line inquired if this was acceptable and the cashier told him to mind his business. During this trip here a pregnant lady came in and started a full conversation with the cashier, while she was taking orders. The cashier preceded to offer the unidentified pregnant lady some cookout ice...the good ice (she stated.) Again, the wait time was longer than usual for the 2 pc special and it was delicious but left something to be desired for the quality of customer service and professional eatery environment. I felt like I was at someone kitchen door ordering a plate, rather than a restaurant. Is this acceptable? Does management and the owner know about this. Another customer asked if they were hiring and was told yes, but you have to get the contact info herself. I felt like telling her to just was her hands and...
