Il preface this by saying we love Goodberry's and enjoy an occasional sweet treat there on a warm summer evening. However, our last 2 visits, specifically last Saturday on Leesville Road and tonight on Strickland Road were a little odd. Goodberrys advertises at both location that 1. We always have...No Sugar Added Vanilla (Leesville) and 2. Daily Flavors...No Sugar Added Vanilla and Chocolate. We always used to stop by any store on any night and grazie a pint or quarto of NSA Vanilla. Both times, I ordered a quart and the staff went to grab it and returned saying they were out. Both times I asked them to go ahead and just pack us a new one since they have the flavor daily. Both times I was advised they were out (6pm at Leesville and 8pm at Strickland) and it was not close to closing time. Both times I was asked if I wanted another flavor.
I think that the NSA Vanilla is a great option for people who can't have or don't eat sugar products. Thats the reason we get it, and it's amazing. We simply don't get anything else because of our needs, and they've always had it. I was told to call in the mornings when they make it and that they'd pack one for me, a nice gesture, but I'd just prefer that they have it in stock if they claim its always available or is a daily flavor on their signage. My plan to make a no sugar affogato has been on delay since Saturday, so I'm hoping that they'll get the NSA Vanilla machine...
Read moreI used to love going to goodberries, but the last two times at this location, my ice cream was served in a clear plastic cup, instead of the usual paper cup. The cup melted the ice cream quickly.
We waited 15 to 20 minutes for our order to be taken. It was frustrating watching the five employees ignore the long line out front. 1 man was pouring pre-made liquid into the ice cream making machine. One took orders on the left side one at a time, about 5 minutes apart. One man was just walking around doing nothing. Another doing dishes (what dishes? They serve in plastic!) Another would go in and out of the office and did not seem to be doing anything. And the fifth would take orders for a couple minutes then direct the others what to do for several minutes.
Just like the other location, the ice cream was served in plasticware. My boyfriend's banana split had the consistency of soup when he was about 1/3 of the way through. Couldn't finish half of it because it was too melted to eat.
My concrete turned into a milkshake about a quarter of the way into it and had the consistency of milk about 2/3 of the way through.
I informed the manager that the plastic dishes were melting the ice cream, and was told "I know, we hate it".
If you want ice cream, go some where else! Goodberry's is now serving milkshakes and milk.
I will not...
Read moreThe reason for this 1 star is mostly about the service I received. I am very disappointed in the service at this location. I was not greeted in a friendly manner, it actually seemed as though the young man that took my order was irritated by my presence or in a bad mood. No smile, no manners, and he had a terrible disposition. My custard wasn't packed properly even though he was specifically told it was a to go order with a bag. When I asked for a lid, he did comply, and basically with an attitude gave me the bag while turning away to clearly get away from my presence at the counter. I've never had such an awful experience at this location before today. I will not be returning to this location as the customer service has obviously declined. I won't spend my money where it was clear to me that my patronage is not wanted. The sprinkles were not mixed properly in the concrete. Just mixed on top, and hardly any sprinkles...
