Whoa! Just hold on a sec, you should just go here. That is you should go if you like tacos, nachos and good basic cocktails. The food was good, the salsa was great (it does have a little kick on the end)!
I wish we had ordered the nachos, three people could easily split the platter that they are served on. The house made chips were great, they can come out hot! That little devil of a salsa was great, not so hot that you regret it but you just keep eating them even though they have a kick on the finish.
The cucumber and dill (that's what it tasted like) sauce on the burrito I had was a nice counter balance to the spicy salsa. My wife ordered the Hang Loose tacos, which they were fine. I felt like all the meats needed a little something, a little spice or char on them would be nice.
Now to the cocktails. We sat at the bar so we got a first hand look at what was going on back there. Let me tell you, when you order that daiquiri, that thing is made to order, no slushie machines here! One blender and a lot of ice! We had an on the menu margarita and on off menu tequila drink (I know how I like my tequila, so hush.) My wife's margarita was good, she downed it pretty quick so I assume it was good. My drink was a little on the rough side, but it was pretty darn busy, so I'm not holding that against them or anyone. (Never question your bartender when its busy!)
So sure, we will go back, especially for a $5 bloody mary at brunch time, maybe we will hit the nachos or quesadilla next time. Maybe stick to on the menu drinks or beer. But it will remind you of being at the beach on a busy July weekend, packed a little loud, but just the right amount of...
Read moreWent there this past weekend for the first time. It's a small, cozy bar and definitely captures the beach vibe that has been mentioned by others. I knew something was a little "off" when I got there, but couldn't put my finger on it.
It was quiet at the time, with only a couple people max, so we felt pretty safe spacing away from people in the little heated, mostly-enclosed patio area.
A few points of contention:
(1) I got the Gnarley nachos and was surprised they were covered in shredded cheese with none of it melted! Melted cheese is a hallmark of nachos everywhere. But I was hungry so I ate those $13 nachos. That withstanding, the dish didn't have the fresh ingredients feel I was looking for.
(2) The venue eventually got very crowded and it became difficult to space out from others. Thankfully we were almost done by the time the crowd came in, but there was no attempt made by the venue to keep customers safe and spaced out.
(3) I mentioned feeling something was slightly off. I later realized it's because NONE of the wait staff had on a mask. So not only are crowds being allowed to gather in such a small space throughout the day, but the wait staff who services all of these different crowds are putting anyone who comes into the bar at a huge risk by potentially spreading the virus throughout the day.
I know this is beach bar, but being relaxed in mindset doesn't mean you shouldn't try to keep your customers safe. It also makes me question what other corners in health and safety are being cut around.
I would not suggest going here until some changes have been made to create a safer...
Read moreStopped in this place for a few tacos and drinks a few nights ago. Got to say I was very impressed! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was definitely better than I expected and never waited more than a few mins when ordering a drink.
Side note - had the pleasure of talking with the owner about his place and his life outside of his restaurant. Walked away that night very impressed with the business owner, but more so with the man. As a Marine, I was very moved by his support and compassion for the military and first responders. Simply put a damn good man - I’ll definitely be back LC.
Oh and 2nd note - I read a comment as a review “Blue lives don’t matter”. Nothing else was said, nothing about the man’s food, drinks or service. Just some computer coward sitting behind his phone. Some little cancel culture Karen with nothing better to do than try to hurt someone else’s livelihood.
My suggestion is next time go somewhere else or grow a pair and walk up to the owner and express your displeasure, instead of trying to hurt someone that is providing for his family and the employees that work for him.
Oh and BLUE LIVES AND ALL LIVES...
