I have been going here for about two years due to its close proximity to my house but will never go again. I find it interesting that they won’t put any prices online , or on their in store menu. And their menu that is on the wall is in such tiny print I couldn’t even see it . That’s really a disadvantage for anyone who has trouble seeing far away . They said it’s because their prices change so frequently but it just sounds like shady business practices to me . When you get rung up the receipt isn’t itemized it only gives you the total… shady.
They routinely get my order wrong and I only ever order bagels with cream cheese .. how do you mess that up ??? 😩 one time I ordered extra cream cheese and I paid for it but looked at my bagel and realized they had not added it . Upon returning the bagel there was a woman (owner manager?) with glasses and white curly hair a distinguished nose and a permanent scowl .And she wanted me to open my bagel so she could see the amount of cream cheese . She then told me “we only put cream cheese on one side of the bagel” then she rushed to the man who had made my bagel and asked if he had charged me for cream cheese and he said yes . So she ended up giving it to me begrudgedly . (Why not just give me the cream cheese without going thru 15 minutes of haggling when I am a weekly customer ??? What was it 25 cents ???)
All of this to say that this place has gotten exceedingly expensive and the bagels are smaller but the customer service is worse… unless you are a police officer . If you are an officer they will treat you like royalty . I see it everytime i go in there . I think it’s great they treat law enforcement wonderful i just wish they felt that the general public was also owed great customer service . It’s not worth it and they do not taste like my bagels . I would very much advise anyone to go somewhere else with more transparency and better...
Read moreDecent bagels, but the service leaves something to be desired.
First: not ONCE have I gone here and had them get my order right. It's usually something small (e.g. no tomato, bagel isn't toasted, etc.), but it seems silly that they consistently get it wrong.
Second: I've seen others complain about the rude staff as well, and unfortunately I have to agree. I've had multiple instances of staff nodding in my direction when my order was up and merely putting it on the counter in front of me without saying a word. Also, the last time I was there the woman at the counter asked every customer before me if they wanted their bagel toasted after they ordered, but walked away without a word after my order.
Third: the ordering area is completely disorganized. The last few times I've been in there's been a line of people waiting in front of the counter, and I later discovered that this line was for people waiting FOR their orders, not waiting TO order. This leads to confusion as to which line is which, and to the staff having to vaguely point in someone's direction and call out "sir/ma'am your order is ready" instead of having a clear way to identify who is waiting for their order and which order that is. An order number/ticket system would be great here, or just a clear way to delineate between the two lines.
I'd give this a 2.5/5 if I had the option, but I'm rounding up because although the orders are always wrong, what you get is usually decent food. Also the pastries are delicious. I just wish this place would step up...
Read moreThe best to NY as you can get them in the Raleigh area. The bagels are good. But I’m going to talk to you about the business side of this place. It’s top management. I don’t know the owners but it’s a solid business. Runs smoother than butter on a Sunday morning at 9:00. It busy busy busy but the flow of it has you in and out in 10 minuets or less.
The pastries are so just like the ones you get a bagel place in New York. Fresh, flakey and delicious. They have the usual sandwich board that make you want to try everything.
The bagels - if you from NY and have done the Sunday bagel thing your entire life you know you want a darker bagel heavily seeded of your fave flavor. The bagels are fresh and densely doughy, but it’s like this place forgets to seed your bagel with the poppy, onion or the sesame seed. I just don’t get it. Why be stingy on what we really love about the bagel. I don’t want a poppy seed here and there, I want my bagel covered in poppy seeds. So I just don’t get it, these guys are definitely from NY but forgot the golden rule of bagels. Smother it in seeds and whatever else your tastebuds crave. Butter, or cream cheese.
I like the ppl that work here because they smile and are efficient! Whoo Hooo! You gotta come here if your dying for a little NY on a...
