This place is fantastic.
After living in North Carolina for a over a year and eating at many local restaurants (before and during covid) I found myself in a situation where I will be getting off work very early. Working nights and typically off work between 6 and 8 a.m. I usually am rather hungry by this point. I have found myself regularly ordering from Doordash, GrubHub, and other delivery services, both from the restaurant directly and a third party. Upon seeing Rise Southern Biscuit and Righteous Chicken located within North Raleigh on the doordash delivery page I decided I would try them out, after all you can only order from McDonald's so many times before it gets old. This as it would turn out was a great decision. My order consisted of two Righteous Chicken Biscuits, (one with bacon) and one side each of Cheddar Tots, Country Gravy, (witch I utilized as a dipping sauce to great effect) and Green Chili Cheese Grits. This meal is, without exaggeration, the best breakfast I have had in North Carolina from a restaurant that offers delivery. The Righteous Chicken Biscuits are better than any chicken biscuit I have had in this state thus far. (better than any fast food establishment including Chick-fil-A, Popeye's Chicken, Bojangles) The Cheddar Tots were excellent, the Green Chili Cheese Grits was delicious with a great mild chili flavor, and the County Gravy made a great dipping sauce for both the biscuits and tots. Over all I can say I am completely satisfied with my experience regarding this establishment. Furthermore I will be personally recommending this establishment to all my friends and family when they come to vist me, and would highly recommend anybody currently within the North Raleigh area give this establishment a try. I highly doubt you will be dissatisfied with...
Read moreTerrible service. No greeting or how many I help you. So ordered at kiosk. Waited close to 30 minutes for a biscuit and doughnuts after ordering. Gave up and walked out without half our food. They’re either understaffed, inefficient, or overwhelmed. Older lady ahead of us asked about the delay and was told rather brusquely that everything was made to order and that’s why. We were never told whether we should get our own drinks or what. There was no pink lemonade in the cooler and no one told us that they were out of something we had ordered. Was handed a bag that was missing one of the doughnuts we ordered. Never got our biscuit, grits, or coffee. Had tipped at the kiosk too haha. When I could finally catch someone’s attention I told them we couldn’t wait any longer & I didn’t have time to go through a refund process or I would be late. (I had an appointment and never expected to be here so long). Said I at least would like to have the doughnut my daughter had ordered before we go and they could just keep the rest. She seemed a little sorry and gave us an extra doughnut. But we had paid for 3 things we were walking out on. Plus the tip. They were taking online and to go orders which were piling up while walk-ins waited and waited. If the food was amazing it would be worth it. I have a feeling that the recipes are good but the inefficiency is making this place suffer. Had this place on my to do list forever as a small biz I wanted to check out and I’m super bummed this is how...
Read moreAs I stood there, in the middle of the literally 30 minute wait to get 2 meals, I honestly felt so sad for the employees at this Rise. They are there working as hard as they can, but are completely handicapped by obvious understaffing by ownership. At some point in the last year or so, they have yanked the gimmicky order-from-an-ipad console off the far wall and now have it perched at one of the registers as the only order option on Sunday AM, what I assume is the busiest day of the week. There is one poor soul trying to bag orders, take calls, help people confused by the ipad, and hand food out to the group of customers that are standing there staring at her. I felt terrible for her in particular - she had to apologize to every customer for the wait when it is the ownership's fault, not hers. This franchise - this store in particular - used to be awesome. As a newcomer to the area, it was efficient, experimental with flavors, and yes, a little pricy, but in a way that you knew you were going to get some great food. Now, after a couple years of slowly morphing their menu into a Bojangles breakfast mimic, letting the store's appearance slide downhill, and clearly understaffing, you are left with our latest experience - waiting for 30 minutes for average biscuits, cold, soggy fries, and unremarkable donuts. Do yourself a favor, go...
