I’ve visited this Starbucks 3-4 years ago when I first came to State and it wasn’t bad. Definitely student oriented which I understand and could be slower because of the mass influx of student orders. I visited this one again for the first time in years and could tell they were busy from the start - I also work at a high volume restaurant and understand how stressful it can be so am never upset when I have to wait etc. The guy, seems like a manager from his shirt, finished speaking with someone on his team then said he could take our order. He said it would be a 25-35 min wait which I did not mind and said okay and he continued that it would be easier if I had ordered on the Grubhub app, which I later heard him tell another guest that the food is always faster when it’s ordered on Grubhub. I am not on campus often but did say I would consider it next time. He said it can be around an hour and a half wait for drinks so Grubhub would be good next time - once again I said okay and acknowledged it. I asked him for my drink - which he grabbed a cup immediately and started writing on it before I could tell him what size - again I did not mind as I know a lot is going on. I asked for no inclusions (strawberries) in it and he confirmed by repeating that to me. Both of my drinks did have strawberry scoop inclusions in them. Overall I feel the interaction could have been a lot better - taking time even when it’s busy to communicate with guests properly and not in a rushed or irritated tone. Out of confusion I asked why it wasn’t a full cup this time and instead of explaining, the barista made me feel like I’m trying to cheat the store by telling me its what I ordered and paid for and then saying if you want more than that we can only give you extra soy milk but your drinks not gonna taste the same. They didn’t say sorry or explain why it was a different amount than usual. I felt really bad and embarrassed that day.
I would feel better if they told me no ice is usually like this and since it’s differnt than what you expected and always got, I will fix your order for you since it’s our fault for not being consistent, but just remember that from now on, only expect 2/3 of a cup when you...
