Took a trip to Sushi Nine for the (4th?) time now and finally ordered a different dish. First, I got miso soup which was good but could have been a bit saltier (what can I say, I do love saltier foods). My boyfriend got two rolls- the TNT roll and the Flaming salmon roll. In his words, it was a "10/10!" I ordered the sesame chicken with white rice and it was good! I would rate it a 7/10. It wasn't super groundbreaking, but the flavor was still good. It was pretty filling and I am taking home enough leftovers for another meal. The gyoza was also very good. I think the gyoza was my favorite part of my meal! It was nice and crisp and the sauce was tasty. Apart from the food, the service was good. I wasn't given a refill at all though (luckily I finished my food at the same time as I finished my drink so it ended up working out, but in the event I wanted to keep eating, I would need a refill). The wait staff were all super super helpful, kind, and accommodating! I have nothing bad to say on their service at all. As for the overall vibe of the restaurant, the playlist was super fun and upbeat and almost all songs that I listen to on a daily basis which was super awesome. All in all, I did have a good experience at Sushi Nine, but I think a few things could be a bit better! There is always room for improvement and maybe I am being a bit nit picky but this all comes straight from the...

As being near NCSU there is not much diversity in food, at least not in quality considering fast food is affordable for college students. Sushi Nine turned out to be about as affordable while having really good quality.

Due to the busyness of the night my date and I had an option to sit the chef's bar. Usually a bar isn't desirable to sit at (compared to a booth or table) but since it showed everyone making the food as well as fresh ingredients we really liked it. There were multiple options on the menu that would were good and would not break your bank. The food came out in a timely manner also. I would definitely recommend the sushi (not because of the name) because it comes with a great BOGO deal to get two sets for the price of the more expensive roll. The plate pictured shows the attention to detail the chef's had to the food.

I would definitely recommend going here. However if you're coming during its busy hours like we did (dinner) then I would suggest calling ahead of time to make sure there is no wait and coming in early to nab a spot in their medium parking lot. When we went the parking lot was full but luckily Western Boulevard has a big parking lot (more sketchy at night) that isn't too bad of...

Super disappointed in Sushi Nine these days. I’ve been coming here for years, even prior to the new building being built and the last 3 times have been awful experiences. Yesterday, I took a large party. We understood it was a Saturday and would be busy so we made sure to order plenty of apps/soups. Two of those came of wrong. Ok NP, they take them back and bring out the correct ones 15-ish minutes later. From that point on the food was a disaster. Another kids meal I ordered with the apps came out 35 minutes after the appetizers. After waiting quite literally OVER AN HOUR for entrees, two more plates of food come out wrong which were taken back for the new ones to be made. The waitress was absolutely lovely and VERY overworked as it looked like she was taking care of half the restaurant. When asked for an inconvenience discount (mind you our check was $300 so we weren’t being stingy on the spending here) we were given $6 off, lol. What is $6 for almost 2 hours in a restaurant for some sushi?? That will be the last time I come here and definitely will not recommend them anymore as there are several better options...

Sushi Nine is a Raleigh institution. I moved here back in 2009 and they were already open. Their restaurant had a fire back in 2016 that consumed the restaurant but they rebuilt it and the new concept was amazing! They have always had friendly and super attentive staff. It's super close to NCSU and the dorms and other local areas which make it very accessible and walking distance from a lot of cool places in the area. Their quality sushi is amazing and it has always been consistent and it's something I really respect and appreciate about a restaurant (Back in the day I used to work for a sushi restaurant and know if it's legit or not). One thing that caught up with attention is that it is one of the few sushi restaurants on the triangle area that have female sushi chefs and that is great!!! They are one of the few restaurants in town that still have a decent BOGO for sushi, so I'll highly recommend it. They are kids friendly, have weekly specials and they are all amazing! This is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant on that area! It's always a great experience and I'll highly recommend it to anyone 🔥🔥🔥
