As I ventured out on my quest to find Pokemon, I decided to visit this one shopping plaza called Lafayette Village on Honeycutt Road. In the plaza were numerous little shops. Some sold house accessories such as vases, while others sold food. I had arrived at that plaza in the hopes of catching Pokemon and getting potions( I need those so badly). As i was walking around, I realized that a friend of mine worked at a sushi restaurant called "Sushi One". I have liked sushi in the past, so I was thinking it wouldn't kill to have some for lunch. I walked into the store and was greeted by the air conditioner( THANK YOU!!!). I was also greeted by my friend, who offered me a glass of water and a seat. Five minutes into my first experience, I asked for a menu. All the items looked good, but my eyes was set on the summer roll. It consisted of mixed garden vegetables, cucumber, rice noodles, shrimp served with our house sauce( which was scrumptious). As i waited for my food, I was tended to. Every time I finished my water, it would be refilled. Now I am familiar with customer service. When it comes to being in the work place, I view friendships as follows: when I am at work, I am a leader first, a friend second. I had a feeling that my friend knew that, since she was in charge. The place had a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Given the time I arrived( around 12 pm EDT) it was slow but the Lunch hours were approaching. While I waited for my food, there were TV's to keep me entertained. Speaking of entertainment, there was this one commercial that I think the current Nominee for the Conservative Party, Donald Trump, made that was selling a Lyin' Hillary doll for $24.99!!!! Why would anyone waste that much money on an irrelevant piece of bigotry? At least make an infomercial about Hillary Clinton! Sheesh! Aside from that, my experience at Sushi One was phenomenal. One of my pet peeves of any place, is the bathroom. In some stores, bathrooms aren't really kept up to par but are still decent. The bathroom at Sushi One was cleaner than clean. The bathroom smelled nice( kind of awkward to type), the toilet paper holder was full, the mirror and sink area was clean, and the floor was spotless! Toilet was above adequate. The bathroom also uses sensors that turn on and off the lights to save power( and a great way to save money). But one minor problem was that the lights kept shutting off on me. For me, I had no problem with it. It was an easy fix. i just had to stand in front of it( Its kind of hard to miss me). The walls were spotless. there were no holes or stains on it. The electric paper towel dispenser was stocked and functioning. my sushi One experience was amazing. I took notice of how the other workers were working and I, in my opinion, was happy. I know a good crew when I see one. I didn't catch the waiters name who refilled my water, but he was well groomed and dressed. Smiling, he refilled my glass with no hesitation, even when he wasn't my server. Overall, this Sushi restaurant is a...

Location. This restaurant is located just off 540; easily accessable from Raleigh, Wake Forest, Brier Creek, Knightdale or even RTP. You'll find this gem nestled in amongst North Raleigh's Lafayette Village... a unique and long-standing boutique shopping and dining destination.
The Food.... I consider myself a bit of a Sushi hound; having sampled quite a few offerings in the area over the years and let me tell you.... this is not your "meh" quality, 1 inch roll, buy one get one, "Man, that's a lot of rice" kinda experience. The quality and cut of the sashimi here... the structure and ingredients of your rolls, coupled with its overall presentation... I consider TOP NOTCH.
The Atmosphere. What would you like? A casual umbrella covered outside dining experience with a backdrop of a lion-headed fountain where you can sip cocktails, talk and enjoy people watching? THEY'VE GOT IT!!
Or perhaps a cozy romantic booth where you and your significant other can dine and gaze into eachothers eyes, as you sit in the rich, dark but modern decor... the glow of the adjustable table lighting creating the perfect evening out. What comes next is up to you. 😉
How about a place to meet with your best group of friends or colleagues after-work for a unique dining and team outing? Somewhere you can experiment and sample things you've never tried before, have a couple drinks, laugh and relax after a long day or celebrate something? YEP... IT'S HERE!!
Don't let the small unassuming entry and hostess area fool you. Just after the bar... This place opens up to accommodate 2-20 or more if need be.
The Service. My personal experience here has been wonderful. Servers are lively and engaging without overstepping. They explain menu options and have the autonomy to make substitutions to accommodate food allergies. Water/drinks are refilled in a timely manner, cocktails are mixed to perfection and the beer is good AND cold. Not to mention, some member of staff/management will check in on you to ensure your needs are being met.
Now does it get busy... YES. Does the Staff get stretched thin sometimes? OF COURSE!.. But every effort is made to make sure you have an enjoyable dining experience here.
Ovetall. Let me say... it's a pleasure to go out and have people provide a dining experience where I would consider it to be mutually beneficial. Sushi One cares about their food quality, the staff is engaged and committed to your enjoyment, the atmosphere is clean, upscale yet inviting while not being pretentious and over priced. They're definitely working with purpose here in this No. Raleigh hidden gem.

This is in response to the management’s response to my friend’s review. We have been in email correspondence with them for a few days now. And now that my GI system has calmed down, I’m pretty upset with this restaurant’s tone. Are you honestly gaslighting our party into saying we couldn’t possibly have dined there? The reservation was originally for 6 guests under the name Maria Duncan. One of us could not make it, so there ended up being 5 of us. We have provided receipts, we have provided EXACTLY what we ordered and at what times. We have even provided documentation that we got sick— one of us to the point where she had to be seen and treated in the ER.
All of us contracted norovirus from this location. To say that there’s zero possibility that we contracted it here when ALL of us got it boggles my mind.
By the way, I travelled an hour and 30 minutes to come see these girls and have dinner here. I travelled straight to the restaurant, had dinner, and travelled straight back home and was sick about 10-12 hours later. The audacity to say that we couldn’t have all gotten it when it’s the only place we have all been together is beyond reprehensible. You have the receipt that shows we all dined there and what we had.
Did you check security cameras to see if your staff is conducting their hygiene practices to standard? Because they can’t possibly be. Do you have cameras in the kitchen? Because our orders were all sorts of messed up when they came out. There were multiple different orders of sushi on the same plate which had to be brought back to the kitchen and separated onto different plates and returned to us. SO many hands touched our food. How many of them washed their hands between touching our dishes? Can you tell me that from your security footage? I wasn’t upset until just now when you tried to call us liars when we spent days unable to eat, drink, or stop vomiting/defecating. This is unacceptable and you should be ashamed...
