Went into LazyBoy not planning on making an immediate decision on completely refurnishing all the seating in our living room. My wife and I viewed EVERY piece of furniture in the store. Justine was our sales representative and offered to assist us when we entered the store. She respected our âwindow shoppingââ status, gave us space while being helpfully available. She never pressured us to change our goals or what wanted, nor did she try to move us over to the more expensive lines. She answered our many questions, made suggestions only when we asked. Her knowledge of the floor, the construction of each piece, availability of different upholstery patterns, and the flexibility of her manager in adjusting price were superb. The variety and quality of the multiple manufacturer lines on the floor was a surprise to us. Weâd always thought of LazyBoy as just being a âreclinerâ store. We had our prejudices politely corrected. With no plans to buy that day and my phone filled with over 200 photos of sofas, loveseats, yes-recliners, incidental chairs, and tables, we walked up on exactly what my wife and I had imagined. Within thirty minutes we had purchased three high quality over-stuffed upholstered automated recliners that didnât look like your typical recliners, a wedge shaped lamp table perfect to go between two of the chairs, and an attractive 7+ foot well-made sofa. I have severe back problems (takes time to sit in 100 different chairs and sofas đ) and all the seats we purchased gave me the balance I needed between comfort and support. We didnât like 2 of the four sofa accent pillows, so Justine let us trade them out for two entirely different ones. The new ones matched not just the sofa but the pattern on the three recliners we purchased. The accent pillows were well made and comfortable. Now, down to the price: All the items were already substantially reduced in price compared to other furnishings at the store front display window area but also compared to the pieces in the back room sales floor. Justine was able to get us a further reduction in the price of the lamp table and a delivery cost cut. We observed the other sales personnel and the store manager and we can attest that they had the same level of professionalism and helpfulness as our sales rep. We are fairly sophisticated consumers especially when it comes to home furnishings (I grew up in High Pointâs furniture market environment). We entered the store with no plans to purchase anything at that time - and we left with 5 brand new (yes, in discontinued patterns) pieces of upholstered furniture with accents for less than our planned budgeted goal. All the items carry warranties. Our family will return to LazyBoy on Falls of the Neuse Road in Raleigh and we will seek out Justine for assistance in the future. We never rate anything Five Stars but LazyBoy has broken our streak of critical consumer reservations....
Read moreIn September 2013, my husband and I bouught two "Maverick" leather recliners from the La-Z-boy Furniture store on Falls of the Neuse Rd. In Raleigh, NC. Each chair was over $1000 by several hundred! We bought an extended warranty--5 years on the leather, the frame came with a lifetime waranty! In 15 months, on December 12, 2014, one of the chairs broke as I leaned back in it! the frame crumbled, and dumped me onto the floor behind me! I have a back condition and a heart condition, and landed a 1/2 inch from a corner of the wall! La-Z-Boy responded that they would send someone out to look at the chair and determine whether or not we had "abused" it! I couldn't believe it! Thank heavens the investigator decided that the chair was made poorly or wrong, but did La-Z-Boy replace it as we desired! No! They said they "never" or rarely" did that! They mailed the parts to us, a new main frame, and a new arm frame, foam, etc--no new leather although it was scuffed and stretched! Our very nice salesman, manager of the store (!) , had clearly sold us a bill of goods, saying in five years, any problems with the leather and they would replace it! Once the parts had all been delivered, and we had paid an upfront "labor charge", an upholsterer came on January 16, 2015, and took the broken chair apart and fixed it--right in our living room! I was appalled when he took out a marker and "touched up" the leather scuffs! He said the leather wasn't torn, so all it needed was the color! Good grief! I can never recommend buying from La-Z-Boy! they are totally NOT comsumer oriented and give no customer support! We have now heard a hundred other stories of people who experienced similar situations! La-Z-Boy does not deserve...
Read moreWe bought a sofa, recliner, and swivel chair at La-Z-Boy, Falls of The Neuse location. We are returning customers to this store. The selection at the store and sales people are great...but, the good news stops there. Two of the pieces arrived damaged, and both the reclining sofa and recliner were shrink wrapped so tight on the arm pads that it left indentions. The swivel chair with the broken leg was taken away, and brought back two weeks later (I had to call to inquire)...it had a replacement swivel base, probably swapped out at the store. I could tell the "new" base was from a piece of furniture on the show room because it had scuffs on all four legs and one leg was missing a floor button. I told the delivery driver to leave it, I would fix it myself. A La-Z-Boy service technician also visited our home to fix other issues with the sofa and recliner...mostly fixed now, except the arms still show indentions from being shrink wrapped by an anaconda. The technician also removed some of the poly stuffing in the lumbar area of the recliner, and showed me how to do it if needed. He was great by the way, best part of the whole negative experience. I'm not sure why the lumbar was over-stuffed the way it was, nobody would be comfortable in it. I also worked on the chair another 45 minutes the next day and removed more stuffing...fairly comfortable now...but, not as comfortable as my 8 year old Laz-A-Boy recliner, that I am thankful we still have. this latest experience with La-Z-Boy was stressful, time consuming and disappointing...not sure if I will trust them again with my hard-earned dollars. They are like all the rest of the large furniture companies; product quality has declined, and they don't really care about...
