Emperor Buffet — Restaurant in Rancho Mirage

Genuinely this is the worst eating experience I’ve ever had. Myself and a group of my friends decided to go here on the premise of a “$15 All-You-Can Eat Buffet”, but upon arriving we realized our folly. Walking to our table, we gazed upon where the food was being contained. I say contained, not kept, as there was an evil spirit residing within. The entire restaurant reeked of fish, there were open dirty raw Oysters, warm smelly sushi, some food mixed together and no one attending to it. The food was bland, nasty, had some mystery meat, and was mixed in with items not even related to each other. Despite the horridness of this, this is but only the start of what happened. We asked for a refill of water and the waiter said no. I made the foolish error of trying the apple pie. However, there was a severe lacking of apple and a large surplus of a strange white substance that was void of fruit. Finally, we had to face the final challenge: our waiter. We received us our bill, only to find that each of our plates had cost $24! Because of this and our general horrible experience, we left a rather minimal tip. Our waiter, upon finding this out ran back to our table and confronted us about our tip. When we didn’t say anything, and he preceded to stare at us for a full minute. He then started to pick up our plates from the table while we were gathering our things, reaching over us and spilling a plate of cold, nasty apple pie, on my friends lap. I am writing this currently back at our place, where I am in line for the bathroom as 6/8 are exiting our bowels from either the front, back. As a Chinese American, we need must not taint the beauty of Chinese culture with establishments like this. Not only is our food much better than this, but our standards are nowhere near this low. Myself and my ancestors are ashamed. Any who cares at all about Chinese Culture and how it’s presented should boycott and avoid this place at all costs. Orange chicken...

Emperor buffet. One would think with that name the food is made for an emperor. Which means the best of the best. Far from true. Besides the GMO fruit and vegetable options you get below average taste quality and variety. Literally I was very disappointed the first time here. I will go on another day and try it again to make sure I just didn't have a bad taste in my mouth. Literally the staff is walking around joking with each other smiling and laughing and when they come to the table all you get is a frowny face and when you ask for something you don't get a smile I mean literally horrible horrible service from staff. And when I paid at a registered up front the man with the small belly Asian guy just looked at me no smile no thank you no nothing I mean it was unbelievably rude in there. And is it is also not a seafood buffet. There is a few seafood items that every other Chinese restaurant has but nothing fresh and completely over or undercooked. I have no hate or dislike towards any restaurant I solely write my reviews to show visitors what you really get before you go. By far this was the worst Chinese seafood buffet that I have ever been to you better save your time and money and go somewhere else. There was this young Asian looking waitress she was pretty awesome she came to the table after we were almost done and she had a smile she was joking and she got us everything we needed right away. All the other stuff should seek employment somewhere else because theye not meant for this kind of stuff. We paid over $25 per person. This is ridicules. 30 minutes down the road you can get better. Ok so prepare yourself... We went in to the Emperor Buttet in Palm Springs tonight. We had seen it many times on our drive home from work and have been wanting to try it for a while. So we were pretty excited when we got there for dinner tonight. We got there at about 8:45pm. My 9 year old daughter, my fiance, and I were greeted with "We close at 10." I politely let her know that I am aware of that. She gestures for us to follow her and before even seeting us, she asks us to order our drinks. As we are eating I realize theres lipskick all around the ring of my cup... Only I'm not wearing lipstick. I ask for the check and when waitress sets it down she says "Cash only." I had $23 dollars in my wallet and my debit card. After waiting for over 15 minutes for her to return from "talking to her manager" I decide to seek help myself. We walk up to the front of the resteraunt and see two ther groups arguing with the manager because they dont have cash. Keep in mind, we were never once told they didn't accept cards nor was there any sign indicating that they don't accept cards. When I finally get to speak to the manger myself, he is very rude and even cussing from frustration. He snatches my card away from me and attempts to charge it 4 times. When he finally accepts that it isn't going to work he says "Give me your cash." He snatches the $23 out of my hand and tells us to leave. Not only was the sevice awful, the food was no better.
