Had the most awful service experience with a manager. Took 2 of my clients (90,93 years old) for lunch on 4/26/15. The place was little busy. I went to the front door and asked a table for 3. We waited outside by the parking lot to wait for our table. 10-15 minutes later, There was a family of 4 got there and got their table right away. I requested need to talk to a manager. Finally they got us a table inside and the manager apologized what happen. On the table, there were 3 napkins, each has fork and butter knife wrapped with white paper napkin. I noticed 1 of them its been used. I took a picture and requested that i need to talk to a manager. I noticed one of the waiter knew why I need a manager. Minutes later, The manager came up to our table and grabbed the used napkin and said to me, Do you have a problem. Are you happy here or not you can leave." Told him, first of all I havent say anything. instead sorry and give me a new clean napkin. He said to my clients, I seen you guys come here couple time and I never see you. So that mean, IF its my first time there, I will be treat it different? We decided to leave and NEVER go...
Read moreIf you know, you know. And if you don’t—you need to. After a wild weekend at Coachella, we made one of the best decisions of the trip: stopping at The Palms Cafe in Rancho Mirage. Total hidden gem.
I ordered the machaca scramble with crispy hash browns and warm flour tortillas—absolutely packed with flavor. It came with delicious salsa and guacamole that took it to another level. Fresh, vibrant, and the perfect complement to the dish.
But the real star of the show? A side of their famous banana walnut pancakes. I don’t use the word “legendary” lightly, but these pancakes are it. Fluffy, rich, and perfectly sweet with that toasted walnut crunch.
The service was top-tier—friendly, fast, and you could tell they genuinely care about your experience.
As I sat there, I couldn’t stop glancing at the other dishes coming out of the kitchen—every plate looked like a work of art and smelled just as good.
Whether you’re passing through or live nearby, The Palms Cafe is a must. Add it to your foodie...
Read moreThis is primarily a breakfast place, well located on Highway 111 in La Quinta in the frontage of the Wal Mart. They serve lunch, but have not tried that. We tried it on our quest to find the best breadfast in La Quinta. This wasn't it, but it wasn't bad either. Not a great review, but I would go again.
We had a pretty standard eggs, bacon and potatio type meal. The eggs were cooked correctly, the bacon was not great and the potatos were ok. The toast was not hot, and the butter was hard, not a good combination. I will say that the coffee was ok. Again, I am not raving about it but it was good.
The bacon was a disappointment, just because a breakfast place should not suffer from just ok bacon. We did see a pancake or two go by, they were truck hubcap size, so theres that.
Service was adequate. The price was not a bargain. Not really a reason to go back, but if I was there and hungry, I...
