Golden Wok — Restaurant in Raritan

This is our go-to place for Chinese take-out. The food is always incredibly fresh and delicious and the service is friendly. During COVID-19, we ordered for delivery and they informed us that they no longer deliver due to the currently pandemic. I drove to pick it up, a little nervous about having to walk into a restaurant, but my concerned were immediately assuaged. They installed a full plexi-glass pane between the takeout counter and the customers and also installed a very ingenious window system in which they place your food in a box, close the lid, and open the window for you to take your bag. Completely contact-less interaction with hand-sanitizer as you walk in. I already loved this place for its delicious entrees and appetizers (try the crab rangoons!) but now love them even more for their commitment to keeping their employees and customers safe during this weird time....

Golden Wok is situated in a small strip mall on busy route 206, but provides respite from the hustle and bustle outside. This restaurant is clean and pleasantly arranged, the staff is friendly and efficient, the decor simple and pleasing. The menu is very complete, and the food thoughtfully prepared. My wife and I both commented that sauces are delicate and tasty, not overly spicy or heavy. My wife ordered duck that was nice and crispy and flavorful, I had Kung Pao Squid that was excellent: both were made with quality ingredients and generous portions were provided. Given the quality and quantity of the meals, prices are eminently reasonable. There were a goodly number of people picking up take-out, and many more take-out orders were filled than provided inside this pleasant restaurant. I ordered 1 chicken with broccoli and sauce on the side and 1 sweet and sour chicken. They did not put sauce on the sweet and sour chicken and said that it was on the side. It was not on the side . I ponder up pouring the sauce for the chicken with broccoli on my chicken and realized it wasn't the sauce. They tried to sell me that the sweet and sour chicken has sauce on the side and they don't put it on the chicken. That's nonsense. i called and told them about the issue and asked for another order of sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the chicken, and another order of just the brown sauce for the chicken and broccoli. That works out great because I got a side of the brown sauce and a side of the sweet and sour sauce. I already ruined my chicken with the brown sauce....
