Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Raymondville

The two men who were working at around 6:00pm on Sunday, May 19th 2024, made our drive through experience horrible, it was honestly nothing but a joke. During our “first” go around through the drive through, we were greeted with a very short and rude demeanor through and at the window. We were then asked to park in the front to receive our order (there was no one else in the drive through & maybe 2-3 cars in the parking lot). After our order was delivered, there was no blizzard that we had ordered. I read the receipt after and they didn’t charge us for it. We were told we had to go inside or go back through the drive through with what seemed like attitude of the employees’ reaction to the intent of us trying to get a “freebie”. On our “second” go around through the drive through (for our blizzard that wasn’t ordered on the employees end), we were greeted with a SECOND round of impolite “what did you order, what kind, etc” when we reached the pay window, after they had already incorrectly tried to charge us for a different meal. Although the food was quick, you expect to not be treated in such a disrespectful manner when you go to a place that is surrounded by such a positive reputation! There was no excuse to be spoken to in that kind of tone or snappiness. Customer service is a business I have proudly worked in and if you do not have the personality to treat people with common decency, then I would highly suggest the employee to find a different job or the company invest in employees who will make a good image for their business. Service was the absolute worst. About 3 couples in the place and I stood in line, alone for about 8 minutes until after the 3rd or 4th employee made eye contact. Jez, as her name tag indicated was rude and looked quite disheveled. The outside of the restaurant was filthy, with trash overflowing. Inside wasn't much better. The tables were dirty, all of them. The ones that had been "wiped down" were as sticky as day old spilled soda on a kitchen floor. I only noticed because I waited 15 minutes after ordering for a shake and blizzard. Still no one else in the order line....

Stopped by after church to get a small cone of ice cream. Requested a senior citizen discount, which is normally given at this and other dq's. Was told that a senior citizen discount only applied to food orders. I received my ice cream, left and did not say a word. What offended me the most is that the manager talked with the clerk and did not acknowledge my presence at all. The manager was standing in front of me. The weekend crew needs some behavior management training and better customer relations training. The crew that works Monday-Friday...
