To be fair, this hotel really deserves a very good rating, but I can't find myself giving it due to the cockroaches. The price is great, the rooms were clean, the staff friendly. However, there are roaches. Not a total infestation, but enough to make your skin crawl. We seen 2 in the room itself and then upon checking out, 3 hours into our drive home a cockroach came crawling up my arm!! (Gasp!!!) When we did finally arrive home to San Antonio, I thoroughly went through all of our things before I brought anything into my house and now I'm afraid I may have roaches in my Tahoe. Also it says free breakfast, but fails to mention you have to walk across to the La Quinta for breakfast. Which we really didn't mind. And the breakfast was actually pretty good. I guess with the roach problem they have, I should be glad they're not serving breakfast on site. I was very surprised they had roaches because the hotel appears to be very clean and well kept. I highly suggest they take care of the problem before they start getting horrible reviews. Its actually a very nice hotel for the price you pay. I would absolutely stay again if I was assured the bug problem had been...
Read moreThis is the cleanest property we have stayed in. These kind owners of this Texas Inn give their heart and souls to the benefit of travelers. We have stayed here three times. It is far from our home in Ohio where we live, but they make it so welcome it is home away from home. The rooms are clean, the lot outside is clean with regular sweeping and cleaning of the lot area. They do not serve breakfast, but food of different types can be located within walking, though that is limited. MCDONALDS, STRIPES, WHATABURGER, WINGS TO GO. There are outside grills and tables you can use to prepare your own foods. We stayed in room 117 which was a very, very nice suite WITH A COOK TOP. We did not have pans to use this feature. This room is complete with hair dryer, ironing board and iron, liquid soaps shampoos and conditioners. Sofa, chair and plenty of storage and counter space. We did find the airconditioner was a bit noisy but we barely used it. I felt very safe here. The staff checked on us and asked if we needed anything. It was overall a...
Read moreWe normally stay at the Quinta Inn next door (but it had no vacancy) and we used to stay here before the Quinta was built. The Texas Inn used to be a Best Western. The Texas Inn has been renovated with wood floors and new granite counters. The room was comfortable but we couldn't adjust the room temp.....the thermostat would not response. There were no blankets in the room and no pen or pads to jog down information. The complimentary breakfast was terrible. No fruit, yogurt, or orange juice. There were three cupcakes the two days we went down for breakfast. They advertise an indoor pool (we couldn't find it and there was no one at the desk to ask). They advertise a complimentary newspaper but there was none and no place to purchase one. I found a used plastic knife on the floor so I assume it was not swept. For the price, I guess the room was okay. One plus about the trip......found out they are building a Holliday Inn Express across...
