Okay this hotel I booked it about 2-3 months before my stay and I talk to the manager .... Booked the hotel . Everything seemed nice and he made us seem quite accommodated and very welcome before we got there .... We made it after a 14 hour drive from west texas to raymondville and the day of the manager Kevin ... Would call and check up on our going of our trip seemed very nice . I had reserved 3 rooms 2 2 bed rooms and one 3 bedroom . So we show up in the middle of the night from our long road trip which made us very tired at 4 am just ready to sleep . I was traveling for spring break for a music festival . And had my elderly with me ... Which at 4 am is way past their bed time we unpack and I check in a young gentleman helped us and said he wouldn't charge us for one night so I said alright thank you . I asked him about paper work and there was no paper work . So I continued on and on speaking to him . And he said it was just for 2 rooms right one 3 bedroom and another 2 bedroom and I said no I had 3 rooms . So they sold one of my rooms . Which is complete B** when your expecting one thing .& you get another . And the rates were going to be 44.99 for the two bed room and 49.99 for the 3 bedroom which is fair in my opinion . So they wanted to charge my card that night but the "system went down". . I didn't meet Kevin Patel that night so then the next morning I went down to confirm the rates first day went smoothly no problems and the rate was confirmed . Headed out for the festival and had no problem . Second morning I get up I meet up with Kevin Patel . To discuss payment he wanted to put my card on hold which is a complete insecurity when working with a very unknown hotel with horrible reviews . But with the benefit out of my doubt I gave him my card he said he would only hold 300$ on it so I was like okay. They scanned it and I went off for my day . He then calls @ 11 pm to my phone when I'm out enjoying my time . And says my card was declined . Which is complete c when he's only holding 300$ . And I had 400$ on it . So he said we will talk once your back . About an hour later I receive a call from one of my family members and they tell me that Kevin Patel was calling in the middle of the night asking for a payment . And I told them I just spoke to him . So I show up and Kevin was as if nothing happened and I questioned him completely of what's going on and he seemed like if nothing had happened but in reality he was going crazy asking for money from my family members just for the payment and going crazy and money hungry . The next day we wake up and he picks up prices on us for 69.99 and 74.99 just cuz it was d** spring break when he agreed on one price with me . So once I tried to work out things with him and he didn't budge he had cursed at me ... And said horrible things very unprofessional of a hotel owner/manager . Which incase I bet they didn't teach him people skills . We left that same moment and took our things to the Texas inn and got great rates and the accommodated us nicely . And gave us hospitality . To top it off Kevin Patel would treat his employees horribly and he would go crazy and money hungry on them . Which is pretty sad and very horrible from a foreign immigrant . I witnessed it my self . To top it off he was so money hungry he lives in his own hotel what a joke . With the kind of money your making you would expect better from a "man" like that . Also he had told me the rates that were outside in the big bold red lit letters 44.99 a night . Which was the rate he was giving me were wrong because its spring break and he was about to change it . Within the whole week we had stayed it stayed with the same price which is pretty sad and another thing Kevin Patel ... Said that there was very high demand for his hotel at the time and I spoke to his employees not even half the rooms were taken . Don't book this hotel even if it's a last resort . Not worth it . Stay in your vehicle you will have better...
Read moreTraveled to Raymondville for a Nilgai hunt. Chose this motel based on price since it wasn't the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive I'm town. Extremely fair rate. From the time we arrived to departure our 4.5 days the owners, who is all you deal with by the way, we're willing to go the extra mile for anything you need. This hotel is a little older but kept very clean. Our room upon arrival had a candle going inside and the A/C on. For some unknown reason the shower curtain was missing and there was no coffee maker. Too tired to say anything we made do and went to bed. The following evening when we arrived I told the owner about the missing items and he immediately disappeared. 10 min later he was at our door shower curtain and coffee maker in hand. Our first day was spent walking the brush country in rainy conditions. Unaware I had tracked some mud in the room so I asked if we could borrow a broom pointing at my mess. Once again a few minutes later the owner popped up with broom and dust pan in hand. He swept the floor and was off again. I can keep going about the next three days interactions but I think you get the picture. These folks are willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are clean and house keeping is on point. Read moreWe booked through the corporate site for 5 night at Americas Best Value Inn. We arrived after check in time, the clerk said we were booked for a 2 bed hotel room, when in fact we booked a single King room. Well, he fixed that, gave us a room on the upper level. Walked in the room, and there was a stench coming from the back corner of the room. Found out one of the previous guests had urinated in the microwave and refrigerator. Told the clerk, and they replaced the 2 units. We fabrezed the room. The bed was ok, not super comfy, the pillows were flat and hard. We went to the local walmart to buy different pillows($5). Housekeeping cleaned the room, but did not replace our towels, we had to go to the front desk to get new towels, washcloths, facial tissue and toilet paper. They were cordial in giving us what we asked for but kind of ridiculous that we had to ask. Then we go to check out at the desk after the 4th night, wanted to leave early, and the desk told us they could not refund the last night of our stay, because we booked through the corporate site.
