Mel's Diner — Restaurant in Raynham

My friends and I went there for breakfast and I ordered.the French Toast Combo. I asked for scrambled eggs as my choice for eggs. When it came out it was a slab of egg not scrambled. I told the waitress and she stated that’s how they do scrambled eggs. I told her that if had known that I would have ordered my eggs medium well. She grabbed the plate with my bacon, potatoes snd egg and walked away with them to go have them remade before I could tell her I would put the potatoes and bacon on my other plate. She was rude as well as what seemed to be a Manager.

My two friends ordered some Breakfast bowl that was suppose to have sausage gravy. When they got it there was very littlê gravy maybe a teaspoon of sausage gravy. They asked for more gravy, which the waitress brought, but then charged them $2.75 for it having never told them there would be a charge.

I was charged $8.99 for my coffee (which was not the greatest and the French toast.

This place is ALL CASH, which was not a problem.

I will never come here again. Came on a steady Monday and very disappointed after reading the good reviews. The service was horrible. The waitress couldn’t be bothered, had horrible manners, and seemed more aggravated at us when she only delivered my meal to the table & we asked about the rest of our parties order after 5 minutes (mind you there was only two of us). People who say much longer after us had there food long before us. The waitress didn’t once come over to check on us. The food was over cooked, dry, and not at all worth the wait. The pancakes were soggy & flat, bacon hard enough to break a tooth, & the handful of homefries were all grease. Once we received our bill it was entirely wrong & had things on it that we never ordered. Again, when we asked the waitress to fix it she sighed & never apologized. I like Mel's, its pretty good and reasonably priced. I don't care for the way they cook their bacon, but they do very nice omelets. I especially like the pico de gallo omelet. There is a very good breakfast sandwich, too, along those same lines, I think they call it a breakfast quesadilla. The staff seems nice, the room is a little small, and can be crowded.
