Angilo's Pizza — Restaurant in Reading

Great pizza and hoagies! Awesome cheese fries too.. I grew up in Reading and have been a fan of Angilo's for over 30 years.. Their pizza is unique in that the sauce is unique and different as well as the cheese they use. Their steak hoagies are really delicious as well.. I love that the taste of their pizza, hoagies and cheese fries have seemingly been unchanged since I can remember. It's one of the few small businesses in Reading that is still there. My mom used to go to Angilo's back in the 60's..

The customer service is just fine.. they guys that work there are very polite.

And GREAT prices! I love that I can get a hoagie or pizza bread and some boneless wings for just under $10. Large pizza is just about $10 as well.

I've only had one problem with Angilo's and that's that they sometimes close early.. I'm not sure why.. If they close at 10 I'll drive over at 9:30 - 9:45 and the door will be locked and they'll be mopping inside. If you say you close at 10, then close at 10. I hate wasting my time driving over there when they do that. It's happened more than once, to the point where I've called ahead of time to make sure they'd be open til 10. But on one occasion even when I called ahead to ask if they'd be open til ten (they said that they were) they were still closed at 9:45 when I got there. I knocked on the door several times and everyone inside kept their head down and ignored me!... I was angry that my time had been wasted. So please, keep the hours you say you keep because die hard Angilos fans like me...

Let me start this review off by saying I have been here over a dozen times, every time I order from here I order a medium pepperoni and bacon pizza with either Anna peppers on it or on the side cut in squares. Tonight I ordered the same exact thing except I ordered a side of 5 wings well done. My boyfriend goea in to pay for the food but before he paid for the food he checked it. The pizza was a large pizza not cut in squares. He came to the car and asked me to go in and tell the older gentleman what I ordered. I told him I ordered a medium thin crust pepperoni bacon and banana pepper pizza cut in squares, the guy proceeds to tell me that’s not what I ordered and asked me did I want the pizza. I told him no I would like for him to remake my pizza the way I ordered it. He literally told me no he’s not remaking the pizza the way I asked and told me not to come back. I am so upset because I patronize this business and have never had an issue. I feel like he knew he was wrong because when he or whoever the gentleman was that took my order said large and I corrected them and said medium. I will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN AND I PRAY TO GOD THEY AHUT DOWN BECAUSE YOU DPNT TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT. I know what I ordered and he made me feel like i shouldn’t or didn’t deserve what I asked for. Whoever took the order that was their fault not mines I literally corrected them to make sure I got what I wanted and not what they wanted to give me. Me and my roommate amber are frequent customers here!!! It’s our go to pizza place. Foods always good and it’s adorable! I’ve never had any complaints with them! They know us by name , number , and address they know what we want without even having to tell them.. the only reason I’m giving them 3 stars and even writing this review is because the older lady that works there can be very rude sometimes. We usually brush it off because everyone else is always more than friendly. But this last order we got tonight was the final straw she got super rude because of the card I was paying with she had to manually type in herself and then when I asked for a loyalty stamp on my receipt she started slamming down the stapler and just being completely mean and rude for no reason she claimed they were busy and that I was holding her up from helping other people… but there was literally only one person behind me and 3 of them there working… I’ve never In the entire time We’ve been customers here felt so disrespected and soooo small.. I wish I would have stood up for myself and told her to her face how rude she was but I was raised to respect my elders… this wasn’t the first time she’s been nasty after asking her to do something else after ringing me up but it is the final time! They lost a loyal customer today that’s for sure. I’d rather drive farther away to get pizza again than let that lady be so nasty to me again for no reason.!!! She shouldn’t be aloud to work there anymore or at least not aloud to work...
