What a horrible experience today at this Restaurant. No one at the door when we walked in to seat us. Once seated we were handed a menu with no drinks available. Then were asked what we would like to drink. So we guessed what might be available at an Italian restaurant. The server was fine to have us guess, before I asked for a drink menu. Which she then brought to us. So I ordered wings for an appetizer. The server asked me what type? They only show Buffalo wings on the menu. But they have 3 other flavors available. I ordered buffalo, she then came back to advise me they were out of wings. No problem skip the app, just get a meal. I ordered my favorite Chicken Franchaise. My wife ordered the gnocchi her favorite. My chicken was not a nice flat chicken cutlet with a tasty lemon sauce. Instead it was a chicken breast cut up three times swimming in a lemon sauce. My wife loved the sausage gnocchi. They were pretty good. They serve red wine in stemless glasses. That would be fine if the Malbec was a nice room temp. Instead it was kinda chilly. I left a lot of it on the table. With so many options for Italian food, this is not the place I would choose to go again.

The place is clean but they play 80’s rock music which is a little weird for an italian restaurant. It seems as though everyone knew everyone because I listened to conversations between the staff and customers that spoke as if they had been friends for generations. It was quite a nice comfortable feel. The young man, Ryan, who was my waiter was very kind, respectful and gave great suggestions. The sautéed shrimp appetizer was delicious. The chicken alfredo sauce was very good but the chicken had me adding more salt to add taste to it. The chicken was soft but lacked taste. Ryan then recommended the crème brûlée. He was not wrong! It was my first time ever having it and I loved it. The lightly torched shell on top was the perfect sweetness to the creamy pudding below. Would definitely eat here again if I’m ever on this side of the U.S. again.

Service wasn't pushy and personable. First time coming here out of the blue. We did not regret one thing we ordered from the calamari, stuffed mushrooms, minestrone soup, and mussels for the appetizers to the seafood plate pictured! Everything had a true Italian homemade flavor and reminded me of my father's cooking!!! The bartender even accommodated my fiance with a drink that wasn'ton the menu and it was delicious as well! Well deserved five stars.

Private party not welcomed! Highly disappointment in our experience trying to book a private party for my daughter’s baptism. I had read the reviews online about poor service with the parties, but I figured I’d give them the benefit of the doubt.

Initially things started out great.. the manager (I believe or event planner) was so helpful and welcoming. The only problem was the restaurant was still being renovated, and I was told she would need to speak with the owner about the status of when it might get done, but since I went October I was told it would most likely be done by December. A few days later I was told the owner didn’t want to commit because there was a hold up in the renovation. This I completely understood, however, I asked the manager does the owner just not want parties or can I call back on the next few days to check on the status. I was told I could call back to check.

A few days later I called back but the phone just kept ringing (two days in a row) so I decided to email them to check on the status. I was asked (who I believe is the owner) for how many people? I responded with my total number of adults and children. Then was told the manager would contact me. This seemed weird as I was under the impression, he was aware of this party since the manager told me she had to speak with him about it. Then later that day received a phone call/ voicemail from the manager stating I told the owner that she never called me back and that they had an event starting at 4:30 so they wouldn’t be able to do it. I called back and informed them that was not what my email said and I actually complimented her in my email. I then asked, wait, the room was conveniently finished? Then I asked about an event starting at 4:30 as my event was supposed to start at 2:30PM the story quickly changed and then turned into, oh the owner just wants to open it up to the public instead. I was told they could use the room from 2:30-4:30 but would need to get right out at 4:30 for the public. 2 hours was not enough time for a party as most other places we looked at allowed 3-4 hours. I asked if the owner would be willing to extend it one more hour (3 hours max) giving them plenty of time to break down a buffet and clean up and open back up to the public- but was told no.

Conversation ended with, “well we don’t have private rooms anymore and he just wants to use this as a dining room.” Guess we will see moving forward if he invites other parties in or just uses it as a dining room as I was told. I’m highly disappointed because I just wish they were truthful with me from the start about not wanting...

Ok, 1 star right now (only because Google's review algorithm does not allow a 0 star post). August 10, 2024, while trying to celebrate my beloved friend's birthday, there was an unfortunate incident with the "Manager" that went down. I am owning my bad reaction to the manager's explaination, which BTW was a load of crap she served my party for our main course. I don't believe our orginal order ever got placed...Ultimately I had to leave because she told me to and threatened to call the Police. I'm not too stupid so I left. They did not charge us for the 4 glasses of wine our party of 3 ordered, nor the complimentary salad & bread (which was NOT offered after we placed our wine order, we had to request 30+/- minutes later!). Why?! The best news is the Birthday Girl fortunately was able to drink all remaining wine on the table (2 glasses nearly full!!!) while I was being told to leave further away over by the kitchen. What baffles me is how could any so called "Manager" in the service industry behave the way she did? I'm 56 years old and have NEVER witnessed such a thing in ANY dining establishment---never mind being a part of the "thing" itself! Once I speak directly to the Owner, I will enter review #2. NOT before I speak with the OWNER. Just a wild guess but I believe He or She will NOT be too happy. Please stay tuned...

Update: Has anyone ever seen such a response to a bad review from a restaurant or any other entity on Google? Their accounts are inacurrate! Placing the blame on the customer and posting publically for the entire planet to see? My Lord, what's wrong with some people??? I have two witnesses along with an attorney who can set the record straight. But not on Google! Fusilli's is TOXIC and their sevice systems are in dire need of improvement to say the least. Potential Patrons: Please do not dine there. If you do, don't ever make a valid complaint. OBVIOUSLY, THEY CAN'T HANDLE IT like the Billions of other Restaurants who know better!!! Who knows what they will do to your food....Would you trust Fusilli's? No speaking with the Owner, no more reviews. I'm done --- stick a fork in it! Let the...

3 strikes and you’re out! Let me explain, and start off by saying I just moved to Reading and bought my home across from this restaurant and REALLY wanted to like them but 3 consecutive bad experiences has made that impossible. First visit we are denied a spot in the bar despite the fact that more than half the tables were vacant, so we left. Second trip we only came over for a couple drinks but showed up a half hour before closing so were refused any service. It doesn’t take me but 10 minutes to whistle down a Guinness so this was obviously a bummer. Third visit was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The wife and I showed up early for drinks and were allowed to sit at the bar (hooray!) but were immediately accosted by the female bartender about ordering food. We said maybe later but after ordering our second round were told we needed to order food if we were going to stay so I said I’d order a pizza in a bit (planning to bring home to the kid) and this obviously irritated the bartender. When we attempted to order a third (and final) round of drinks the bartender asked us directly if we planned on eating or not, and “reminded” us this was a restaurant. She was beyond rude and it was extremely embarrassing, as if she thought we were planning on skipping out on paying the tab. Needless to say we ordered the pizza and paid our tab and left. Before leaving she attempted to tell us she didn’t mean to be rude, but all too little too late. I will never go back to this place and would not recommend it to anyone who wants to feel welcome in a new spot. Again, super bummed on all this cos I live directly across the street and was hoping to...
