I ended up ordering here because my normal go-to places were closed that day. This was a recommendation from a Reading Eagle video I'd seen, and I'm always on the lookout for good cheesesteaks. It was a bit out of my way, but I don't mind if it's worth the trip.
I jad to give 4 stars for food and service, though I'd do 4.5 stars for service if I could. But with the food, we had a few issues. The cheesesteaks were good, at least for those of us who didn't get their steak with something they hate. I did takeout, and I had no time to go back, but 3 of the 4 steaks I ordered were wrong.
I had ordered ahead for pickup at a specific time, but I arrived 10 min early. They were already sitting waiting, which seemed odd, so this is the 4.5 for service (if i could). I don't know how long they sat there.
As for the cheesesteaks, two of my friends ordered no onion but got onion on their sandwich. The one guy hates onion. He ate some of it but was trying to pick out the onions, which really isn't possible. He almost chucked the whole steak and was obviously pretty disappointed. Mistakes happen, I understand, but sometimes you get one shot, and he won't be coming back. My other friend who requested no onion didn't care as much. I was missing ketchup on mine, but I'm also fine without it. All in all, getting 1 out of 4 right isn't great.
The inside of the shop was nice and I wouldn't have minded eating there. At least we could have gotten our orders fixed. One big plus is that they use Conshocken bakery rolls for the steaks. I also saw Amoroso rolls in the back, which are decent for hoagies, if that's how they use them. I'd prefer Conshy rolls for both, so if that's an option,...
Read moreYesterday was our first time ordering from your restaurant. We ordered online which was quick and easy but we were disappointed when we got home and unpacked our order.
Your menu states your cheesesteaks are: Topped with our Famous Sauce and “Served with Dill Pickle Chips” which, to me, means the pickles are on the side. When I googled your shop before ordering and looked at the pictures, all of the steaks showed the pickles on the side. But, when we got home and unwrapped our steaks, the pickles were on the sandwiches and there were so many of them they gave it a very off taste that neither of us cared for.
We also selected “Side Sauce” for one of the steaks and “Our Famous Sauce for Dipping” for the Jalapeno Poppers and didn’t receive the sauce for either.
I would suggest adding an option online to allow customers to not get pickles or get them on the side (like I thought they would be) if they really want them, but that may not work since both of our requests for side sauce were ignored.
I really think your steaks would have been great had we not been disappointed with the unexpected pickles on...

Not at all pleased the rolls are old and dried out. They cut back on the hours and closed on Sunday. Don't think this place is going to be around this time next year. The place needs the old owner back it was a great place then. The owners do not not a thing about running a sandwich shop yhe should stick to selling cars They changed the meets and they are cheaper and not the best. I hear so many complaints about the food it is a shame the owners are giving the Name Mike's Sandwich Shop a real bad name so sad Mikes has been around for over 50 years and just because they may no how to run 61 Savage does not mean they can run a sandwich shop, The one owner his mother ran a sandwich shop and she new...
