My family has been going to A&R since they were in dairyville. The last few deer we've taken in we've gotten very little meat back. 1 deer will be roughly 50lbs hanging and another will be 90lbs hanging and we'll get almost the exact # of packages back. Recently I brought in a deer and asked for $100+ worth of Jalepeno cheddar pepper sticks. I got 15 packages of regular. I told them immediately (saturday) when I noticed the label only said pepper sticks. I spoke to Cole, who said no problem, we're making some right now, and we will call you on Monday. No phone call Monday. My bf goes in to pick them up Tuesday, and they're still not ready. I go in on a Thursday to pick them up, and I only get 11 packages back?! You'd think you'd get more once you start adding more stuff to it. I told them that I gave them 15 regular, I want at least 15 jalapeño cheddar. I paid almost $400 for my deer, I would like it all back. They said that's based off of the "weight" on the tag, and it's asking too much, but they'll give me 3 more. My 45lb deer had 11 packages. My 83lb deer does, too?? I asked for half of my ground venison to be turned into jalapeño pepper sticks, not a specific weight, mind you. I just opened one of them, and they are the worst pepper sticks I have ever had. They are incredibly dry, way too over smoked, and there's barely any jalapeños in it and ZERO cheddar. Idk if they're getting too big to keep track, but we will not be going back to have animals processed. Not to mention - who's deer did we get the first time? Or the second time? My name is nowhere on these packages, and I know they didn't regrind my 15 regular packages of peppersticks. This isn't the first time they gave us something wrong - this is just the first time It's been absolutely terrible and worth writing a review on. I can't even take these back and get a refund because it's literally my deer - you can't get that back. They'd have to take from someone else to make up another 15 packages. Save your money. Vaccuum seal your own bags. Especially when the other night, one of my packages was vacuum sealed twice - because the first one was tore all of the way open. Why they didn't take the meat out and just reseal it in a new bag - who knows. I have pictures of it and a side by side of the previous jalapeño cheddar sticks we got vs these ones. They're almost black they're so dark. I posted them...
Read moreThis place has pretty darn good sandwiches! This is an old-fashioned ran store that is a local owner who I know from Calvary Chapel. His boys work there too and are hard workers! It is great how everyone talks to one another just like 50 years ago! They are all so very nice! I enjoy going there, it is like eating with family. I hope God continues to bless this place and all of the employees as well as the owner! I highly recommend this place. Also was able to buy some "raw" milk here! Reminded me of growing up on the farm that's for sure! Also if you have not had a tri-tip sandwich on "Tri-Tip Friday", you are missing out! But be warned sometimes the wait times can go over an hour, that is how good the tri-tip is. I suggest phoning the order in ahead of time, especially from...
Read moreI went in to buy a pound of filet mignon. Their display mostly looked decent, but when I got home and unwrapped the wax paper they set it in, I realized they had set the best side of it up. About 1/3 of it was pure fat. This has got to be one of the worst filet mignon cuts I’ve ever seen in my life. Even Food Maxx had a better cut. The worst part of this is that they’re charging about $30 a lb. Food maxx and Sav Mor charge 15-17 a lb for what seems to be the same in terms of bad cuts/quality. I am incredibly disappointed in a place that would call themselves a butcher shop and not know how to...
