Ate there for the first time today. ‘Monster burger’. Seasoned fries.
Seasoned fries out of a bag of frozen fries, good as can be expected. (Tasted a bit like onion rings, fried in the same oil.)
I only took one bit. A. I wasnt very hungry. B. It didnt look appealing.
Lettuce onion tomato, fresh and good. Mayo and mustard on bottom bun, good. Top bun dry, not good. Buns not toasted or anything, just slapped on fresh out of a bag. They forgot to put the cheese on it.
Two pre-formed from frozen patties, tough and dull and lifeless. Gross.
2 star burger at best. $18. For $18 at Final Draft in Redding, you get a GREAT burger.
Wife had the chicken fried prime rib. Pretty good, definitely thicker than 99% of the ‘chicken fried steak’ one gets these days.
Nothing interesting or tasty about the biscuit and gravy.
Friend had a breakfast: diner-usual warm hash browns ever so slightly browned just on the top. Sausage links and toast and scrambled eggs. Standard fare, uninteresting.
Dad had the reuben. Pretty good, he said. Looked too thin on the meat for my liking and for the price.
Mom had a salad. Nothing about it a grandma wouldnt like.
Overall, IMHO its a run of the mill, boring food, old people food (no seasoning, no creativity, no love goes into the food), to expensive for what it is, everything delivered from Cisco kind of diner.
Waitress was nice. Didnt enquire about my burger with only one bite out of it sitting there at the end of the meal.
I didnt send the burger back. But ill never go back. Low quality food/taste experience. Too expensive for heated up frozen foods and bland everything else (seriously, care a little bit about the taste of the...
Read moreNot sure where to eat in Red Bluff, this was one of the places listed in the hotel places to eat in the area. We headed out for dinner. We were surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the good comfort food you get here. The place wasn't too busy when we got there, but soon enough, families, school sports team, people young and old.
What we liked best was their milkshakes, and the different flavors of ice cream. I got black cherry the first time and fried chicken. Both yummy. We came back here a few months later, our 2nd trip to Redding. This time we had breakfast, the serving are really big. I got a chocolate peanut butter cup milkshake this time. I am hooked on the peanut butter cup ice cream now.
The 2nd time we were here, the owner was waiting on us and we started talking. This is a family run business and they really care that their customers are happy with the food and service. We'll be back next time we...
Read moreMUCH better than this place used to be! We tried this place a few times when it opened and it was an absolute trainwreck. Gave it a few chances 3 years later and still not worth a tinker's damn, so we just wrote it off.
On this year's snow day morning everyplace else was closed, including Denny's who literally locked the door as we were trying to come in -- telling us they were too understaffed even though they had 4 tables served and eating inside, so we figured "what the heck?".
It was such a very pleasant surprise! Even though the place was standing room only and it was taking nearly an hour for orders to come out, the food was really good all around. Everything at our 4-top was tasty, and their servers were SO upbeat and polite.
Been back 3 times since and they continue to impress. As good as any american-food breakfast/lunch in town, better than M&M, and WAY better than Breezy's out at...
