I am giving 4 stars based on my two experiences eating here. I have eaten here for dinner on a Thursday, and lunch on a Wednesday. My dinner experience was pretty good- would have been great if service was better. Our waitress was not real interested in us and not exceptionally friendly. I had the meatloaf which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Rib Eye steak which I do not seen on the current menu, but he was very happy with it. Rib Eye is his favorite steak and this one definitely got his approval. The atmosphere was very relaxed and had a casual, pub or brewery feel. Low lighting, very enjoyable. I thought the menu variety was nice. It didn'thave way too many choices, but it had enough options that I did have at least 3 items I was debating on. My second experience was 4.5 months later for lunch. We left our office across town at 11:35 am to beat the lunch crowd. We were seated and ready to order our food before 12. We were one of 3 tables and it took well over 30 minutes to get our food which was a wedge salad, a classic burger, and a chicken club sandwich. I feel the food took way too long to get out based on the low amount of people in the restaurant, and it being the lunch hour, which working people have a limited time for. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive which was appreciated. I was very disappointed that the grilled ham & cheese was no longer part of the menu as I had viewed the menu online before arriving. The online menu should be updated. I had the classic burger and it was very tasty. The fries did not taste fresh. Another in my group got garlic fries and those were delicious. We also had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and those were great as well. The dipping sauce was delicious! We had been finished with our food for 25-30 minutes before we got our check, even though only about 3-4 more tables had come in. As far as the food goes, I recommend this restaurant as it was mostly great, besides the fries, and my previous meal was wonderful. If the lunch was my first experience, I would probably give 3 stars. That would be based on the slow service. It's lunch time, on a weekday, people are on a schedule. Luckily my supervisor was a part of my group so it wasn't an issue, but I don't believe I would have had time to eat if I had to get back to work in my hour time frame. I think restaurants should keep in mind that people are on a lunch hour and try to make service more accommodating. That is really my only complaint. I have no doubt I will eat here again, just not when I'm on a...
Read moreWell while visiting my brother, sister-in-law and nephew in Red Bluff, for my nephew's graduation. We were looking for a nice place to eat dinner with the whole family. My brother pointed it out to us on our return from a wonderful day trip to Lassen and said it had great marks with all his friends. So my uncle and I agreed that we would try it out, which we did last night. My uncle had an excellent New York strip which was Priced Right and a good healthy portion. My nephew had the New York sandwich, which was amazing looking. The two ladies in our party had the Philly cheesesteak, which they loved! I had my all-time favorite..... baby back ribs, when the ribs came out they looked incredible, they were huge, like the ribs that you used to see on Fred Flintstone's car!!! They were so big and meaty, I was only able to eat three, but that just means I'll have another 3 days worth of ribs at home for lunch. They were cooked to Perfection and I have no complaints, only High marks for their food. I saw a many private parties and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves and having a happy night, this included us. We will never forget our time at the Green Barrell Whiskey Town but... for the life of me I cannot remember our waitress's name, but I know that she was originally from upstate New York, which we had a lot in common, because I've explored that area quite extensively, it is beautiful beautiful country and she was an excellent server, waitress and guide. She told us of many wonderful things to see on the coast, knowledge we were thankful for, much thanks and accolades for this young lady! I don't believe it would be disappointed if you go and enjoy yourselves in this fine...
Read moreWe so wanted this place to be as good as the reviews we read though apparently the 5 star reviews were posted before the change of ownership. We came in after our last night of working at the bull sale looking for a good meal after having corn dogs and popcorn all week. We started with onion rings which were good so we were happy the place was living up to its rep. Then we tried to order but they ran out 3 of the 4 items we requested so we kept having to change until we found something they had in.. The salad came from a bag and the mashed potatoes came from a box. The vegetable beef soup was out so I was given minestrone. I typically like minestone but prefer it without frozen vegetables especially carrots. What was worse is the fact there were only 5 carrots, 2 small triangles of zucchini and one little tube of pasta. My chicken was like jerky because it was so over done. My husband had the scallops and though the flavor was heading in the right direction they were tiny. The risotto was tasty however. I wished we just asked to pay for our drinks. The decor was really nice and our server was amazing. She needs to relocate to another establishment with better food so she can earn the tips she deserves. I am a lousy cook so I never have bad things to say but when you spend 90.00 you want to be more satisfied than if you just ate at Taco Bell.
Thank you for responding to my review though based on our experience we will not be returning or making...
