We got a meatball sub special that isn't on the menu. PLEASE PUT THIS REGULARLY ON YOUR MENU!!!! This was the absolute most flavorful meatball sub I have ever had in my life! The meatballs were the size of those giant jaw breakers from back in the day. The sub roll was toasted perfect. The amount of cheese and sauce were on point. At first, I thought it was so good because I was hungry. I got to the second half, and that bite tasted as good as the first. Then I knew the sub was that good and not just me being hungry. The coleslaw that came with it was also on point. Finally chopped and the perfect amount of creaminess. It's not too dry and not too wet. Unfortunately, they only give you a serving that is about 3 bites.😔 The beer menu has a great variety of beer tastes. We got a flight of 4. I'm a stout drinker and usually only find stouts with higher alcohol percentages, limiting how many beers I "responsibly" drink. The General Gates Porter has 5.6 and could give most stouts a run for their money and also allow me to have more than my usual. The atmosphere is big and bright during the day, with huge warehouse windows flooding the whole place with natural light. Our server was on point with his service and personality. Preston? Sorry guy, the General had my attention and wasn't allowing name retention. Anyway, great job! Unfortunately, after so much praise, I do have one major complaint. It's my understanding that Black Cap hears about it every day, and I have seen it in some reviews. The stools, man, the damn stools! I just stood the whole time, which wasn't bad either. Anyway, I highly recommend this place, and they have earned a regular customer. We will also be bringing friends with us the next time. Go, you won't be...
Read moreWe were a party of 7, all WELL over the age of 21, that stopped at Franklin Street Social (directly beside Black Cap) for a quick bite to eat then headed to Black Cap right around 7:30 for a few drinks. Now, please reference the pic of sign(s) that were on the Black Cap front door… kinda mixed signals don’t ya think?!?! Pulled the handle and the door was unlocked. Proceeded to the bar and was very ignorantly instructed by a young female bartender that they were, in fact, closed as the sign says AND that the lights were off (please reference picture once again as the lights were CLEARLY on!!). Also not shown in the pic were the handful , approx 5-6 people that were sitting down and drinking!!! We apologized to which she replied… “well you’re here now, so?!?!…”. We all kinda had a chuckle at that comment and walked out and wished them the best with Black Cap!! Then the owner meets us at the front door, informs us it’s been a slow night and the front door should have been locked, which he then locks from the inside before we even had the chance to exit!! Laughable once again!! Let’s do the math here folks… ya have 1-1/2 hours until actual posted closing time and a group of 7 walk in, which instantly doubles your clientele and your snippy attitudinal lil bartender gets rude then the owner locks the doors in front of us…. WHAT AN EXCELLENT BUSINESS MODEL!!… No wonder ya had so many open seats… next stop Sign of the...

We went on a Friday night and didn’t have an issue getting a table. You can tell it’s a local favorite for friends and families to meet up and enjoy a meal together!
Pulled pork nachos were fantastic! My fiance and I ordered a shareable size, and I wished I hadn’t ordered an entree too. The nachos filled me up (and this is coming from someone that has a big appetite!) My grilled chicken sandwich wasn’t anything noteworthy, but the tater tots that came with it were deliciously crisp and my fiancé enjoyed his smokehouse burger.
We’ll be coming back soon, and I’ll be sure not to order an entree!
Parking is a bit limited, but currently fits the needs of the restaurant. But if more people find out about this hidden gem in Red Lion, they’re going to need...
