I was absolutely blown away by my latte this morning. Full transparency, I’m typically a convenience coffee drinker. The flavored syrups, cream, toppings, the kitchen sink. You know where I’m talking about. This morning, I was in the area and had a few extra minutes, so I decided to stop in for a latte to go. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable on the products he is serving; the region the beans were sourced from, the flavor profiles, etc. I ordered a latte, as is. No sugar, flavorings and made standard with oatmilk. WHAT. AN. EXPERIENCE. I was in my car before I tasted it but I just had to go back in to tell the gentleman behind the counter how fantastic it was. Smooth, rich, creamy, and just a clean taste. Weird to use ā€œcleanā€ as a description, I know, but that’s what comes to mind. I paid cash and my total was $7.50. I pay that for a cup of a coffee flavored sugar bomb that I can grab in a drive thru. What you get here is truly an experience. If you’re willing to try something different than you’re used to and you have the palate to appreciate it, this is your place.

I love going to this coffee shop. I thought I was a coffee snob, but Kris has me beat. This has really brought the best tasting coffee and drinks into my life. The scones are amazing, too. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The Cafe is in an amazing, old brick building. When he and his wife had it built out, they had it done in a really industrial feel, keeping it looking and feeling historical. Lots of wood that's burned and finished to give it an aged look, exposed beams, it is a very beautiful environment. On Tuesday night, they have a games night. They not only offer traditional Cafe items but also have coffee brewing items, scales, and all the Grounding Swag you need. Tee shirts, knit hats, which I wear and its so comfortable and warm. When you go, park around the back in spots with a 'C' marking, for Cafe. The building next to it is the old furniture factory, I think, but it's luxury apartments now. They did a phenomenal job here, I love my time in this Cafe.

Grounding is a truly next level cafƩ experience. Tucked away from the well worn path and stewarded with so much love and intention, its quiet strength is palpable and welcoming. Home to many souls who have come to cherish its offerings, Grounding is a safe, soft space to land, slow down, and find your center in a world of seemingly endless hustle and bustle. Kris, the owner and operator, has mindfully curated a menu where delicious indulgence meets wholesome nutrition. Each ingredient gets its opportunity to dance across your taste buds as simplicity accentuates high-quality selections, and the depth of conversation, compassion, and critical thinking is nourishing to the body, mind, and soul. I've been blessed to witness firsthand how much care goes into this space, each and every day. Bring an open mind and a heart brave enough to try something new, and let Grounding do the rest.

There are plenty of wonderful, heart-felt reviews describing Grounding’s warm dĆ©cor, meticulously sourced ingredients, the sourdough pancakes, and of course the bean obsessed owners. I knew I’d found something special when I overheard the owner helping a friend ā€œdial inā€ his home machine for a newly available roast (converting Fahrenheit to Celsius on their phones to accommodate the dissimilar machines). Hey, don’t laugh, this is serious business! Just today he and I were discussing an amazing dark-maple syrup that he had recently sourced that has, apparently, forever changed his experience of maple! It’s the pure joy and curiosity found in the smallest of details that exemplifies the vision of Grounding.

More importantly, Grounding has been so much more to my wife and I than the description above. You see, we had recently relocated to this area from the Southern Plains to be closer to our children and grandchildren, walking away from established jobs and friends of many years as a result. We bought a house pretty much sight unseen and not knowing a soul within an hour drive. Now, as one does when rolling into a new town, we started searching for the best local coffee place. We struck gold at our second stop. The owner/operators have now become very dear friends. We’ve met so many new faces, names and interesting individuals there in such a very short period of time.

The owners have created a very unique and special place, to be sure. Grounding never feels rushed or impersonal. It’s evident that they push back, hard, on any temptation to cut corners, or follow the established practices of so many other popular chains. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, drive-thru, Frappa-foamy-drizzled-with sprinkles experience, well, Grounding isn’t that. It’s so much more! It’s a place to read, relax, recover, recharge; a place for music, art, games, discussion, contemplation, and if I may be so bold, healing. Grounding, without exaggeration, has played a huge role in our positive transition to PA. It wouldn’t have been the same experience without them. I can’t thank...

While upon arriving, the outside appearance is deceiving. It is absolutely gorgeous on the inside. It captures a wonderful urban asthetic that has a calming effect as you enjoy your order, especially if you decide to come in the morning.

Their coffee options are the star of the show and will not disappoint you, especially if you enjoy "authentic coffee." What I mean by this is that their coffee isn't oversaturated with syrups and sweeteners, but if you prefer that, you should probably head to Starbucks. The coffee here (in my opinion) is more robust and refined in comparison to the usual flavored latte's.

When it comes to their food options, I have tried everything on their menu, and nothing disappointed me at all.

Their acai is not frozen and made fresh with fruit, granola, and cinnamon (ask to add honey and peanut butter powder).

The grilled cheese has a nice sharp cheese flavor to it with spices on the bread. (Try asking them to add spinach and cayenne for a little kick!)

The kale chips (while you may get a small portion) are flaky, salty, and delicious and pair well with the grilled cheese.

Overnight Oats is another on their menu you can't go wrong with if you like oatmeal. It's nice, light, and chilled with a light drizzle molasses and maple syrup with fruit.

Their grilled chickpeas are very flavorful but without being overwhelming in an almost "mild" sense but not entirely.

The Pit-za (peet-za) is perfect for a light something for breakfast. The bread is light, and the cheese, tomato, and spinach used on it are delicious. It was like having a "healthy" pizza, haha.

Sourdough pancakes here, though, smelled so good and have such a satisfying fluffiness to them. Pancake lovers unite. You will be in for a treat upon ordering these.

An honorable mention of their food is the biscotti's they have. They are slightly tough but mild-flavored and tasty at the same time. It's a perfect pair with a cup of coffee.

10/10 CafĆØ. These...
