El Taco Asado — Restaurant in Redding

Got two super burritos, one carnitas one pastor. The burritos were grilled and rolled like a perfect cigar. Every item in the burrito was perfectly distributed and seasoned, easily one of the best burritos I’ve had. The meat was cooked very well and I can’t wait to try a taco where there is more focus on it. The rice was very flavorful and you could taste the tomato and chicken stock, definitely not bland orange colored white rice. If I could, I’d love to just order a side of rice to go.

The salsa, one red one green, came in smaller containers than I am used to seeing, but after an initial taste it was clear the salsa was so potent you didn’t need to use a lot. One container was the perfect amount for one burrito. The flavor was complex and spicy, they could sell this stuff by the bottle if they wanted. If you don’t like spicy food, I wouldn’t advise trying the salsa, but if you do you’re in for a treat.

Meh. Ordered a supreme pollo burrito but it was missing the guacamole, sour cream and wrong type of beans. Way too salty and basically a total fail and the chips were over fried with pico that seemed to have no jalapeño. Oh well just another miss of Mexican food in a long line...

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Their tacos are incredible and their burritos are huge. It takes a lot for me to be impressed with Mexican food but this is a place I will be returning to. My dad went twice in one day it was that good....
