Ikura Asian Sushi — Restaurant in Redland

Let me start by saying My expectations are very high. . I like my food fresh and flavorful ;and so many other restaurants I’ve eaten at in the suburbs here taste synthetic, without much flavor, mass produced and not cooked well. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. I was in the mood for chicken teriyaki. I had it at a few other Japanese restaurants in the area and it was hard, fried and not well flavored; by contrast this was cooked perfectly -the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful and the pan fried vegetable dumplings were delicious with fresh filling. In addition I have the Yaki soba noodles with vegetables and the flavor was really wonderful fresh mushrooms and onions and other flavors. It is deceiving that this is an in strip mall; but I highly recommend this beyond most of the other restaurants I’ve been to in the area. I encourage the restaurant to let people know that they not only have sushi but other choices as well, and encourage people to post on yelp and Facebook etc. this is a new restaurant and I really hope it...

We recently tried Ikura for the first time! We got a big lunch order, Yaki Udon, Fried Rice, tempura, and a mountain of sushi.

The sushi was SO good! It was really fresh and the combos were delicious. The Salmon Tango was the best I've had in a while. I was a little let down with the rice and the udon though. I expected the Yaki Udon to be in a sauce, and maybe that was on me, but it was just plain noodles with chicken and veggies. The fried rice likewise didn't have much flavor. The tempura was really good though! The portion was large and it was hot and tasty.

We got carry out but the service was great! The staff was polite and we asked for a cat on our bag and got this adorable cat drawing. I was glad they included a carry out menu, my brother saw it and also went to try them out a few days later!

I will definitely be back for more sushi soon though! Prices were good, sushi was delicious, and they're pretty close to the house, so...

I used to love this place when they first opened. Their portions, service, and food quality were a lot better. They increased their prices, and they made their portions smaller. I understand this can be caused by inflation, but compared to any nearby competitors with similar cuisine, they price slightly higher. 3/5 times they take a long time to fulfill a simple order. This is because they don't have enough personnel; the same person that takes orders is the same person preparing the drinks, and therefore, it can take a long time to get a simple bubble tea. I hope things can change for the better as I love to support local businesses. The location for this place is really convenient and should the experience be better, I'd come here way more often! I hope they can take consider...
