Tried this place for the first time and ordered carry out for lunch. To my surprise, it was very clean on the inside. Not expected from your typical Chinese carry out restaurant.
I ordered the General Tso's Chicken with Chicken Lo Mein lunch special, Fried Wings with Fried Rice, and one egg roll. All of the dishes had great flavor. The Lo Mein and General Tso's Chicken paired well together but cost an additional $2 since I substituted the fried rice for noodles. The General Tso's chicken had a decent amount of dark meat chicken inside. It didn't feel like you were eating just fried batter. Their General Tso's sauce was more on the sticky thick consistency versus saucy.
The wings were huge and very crispy. The fried rice was cooked very well and the soy sauce that they used was very fragrant. One of the best fried rice I've tasted from a take out place. The mambo sauce was more of a bbq/ketchup mix of some sort. Not the mambo sauce I was expecting - that was a bit disappointing. The egg roll was veggie based and it wasn't that great in my opinion. The veggies on the inside tasted kind of spoiled.
Overall, I'd give this place another try. Definitely, one of the better Chinese take...
Read moreNew restaurant with new owner. First-time customer. Ordered their lunch special. I asked for fried rice. You can tell an excellent by the fried rice. Surprisingly, the fried rice was top tier. Excellent fried rice comes with each rice grain freely separated from each other. Bad ones are ones that clump together like clay, wet n oily. I had the lunch special sit in the container for at least an hour, but it was still free and not clumpy. The dish was tasty as well. A real surprise. Real value to add soup with $1. But the hot n sour soup was lacking ingredients and was too watery for me. Hope it gets to keep its excellent chef n quality. There is no good fried rice around here. This one is a gem.
The place is mostly a storefront. Humble beginning. Will definitely try other dishes for...
Read moreLunch combos aren't worth it. I've order 2 different combos (curry chicken & szechuan chicken combos) and all you get is a bunch of veggies covered in sauce and barely any meat, which is highly disappointing. At the price points, you're better of just ordering a regular meal because I also ordered double cooked beef and that was amazing and the portion for that was really good. Their apps are really good. I really liked the fried crab sticks and they're much better than other chinese places I've had. Other than that, the service has been great. No comment on atmosphere but each time I've gone, there's always people there so...
