As our camping weekend was coming to an end, we decided to stop somewhere for breakfast on our way home. We weren’t sure if Winchester Bay would have any good options, but we saw some good reviews on Jackson’s Cafe and went for it.
The service was great. The person taking care of us was very attentive and patient with us.
We went around 12:00 PM and they only had breakfast. Luckily, they had clam chowder, which was something we really wanted.
The menu pricing was pretty good. Given the challenges that many businesses are facing, they were able to keep fair prices. All of their menu items sounded delicious, and they even had an espresso maker, so they’re able to make lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, etc. I was very happy when I asked for a milk alternative and they had oat milk, which is my favorite.
The latte I ordered was better than I expected. Now, it wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was definitely worth getting.
My wife ordered a chili breakfast burrito, and it was delicious! The portion was great too. She ordered the half size and I thought they messed up and gave her the full size… but no… she got the right one. I had a few bites and I really liked it. It reminded me of my mom’s breakfast burritos, and that’s a compliment!
I ordered the clam chowder. Everyone at the table tried it and we are in agreement that it’s really good. It hit the spot and I would order it again. It’s just one of those things I feel like needing to order when visiting the Oregon coast.
Everyone else’s plates looked good, and I wish I could have tried a little bit of everything else they had to offer. They also had pies, which we didn’t get to try this time.
We all enjoyed our food, enjoyed the service, and we’re glad we stopped by on our way home. If I’m back in this area, I’m sure I can count...
Read moreWe were disappointed. Heard good things & reviews were generally good. Our food was fine … when we finally got it. We ordered a Papa Jackson’s omelette with hash browns & Joe’s special scramble with fruit cup. Also a mocha. We got the mocha after many minutes & then waited maybe 20 more minutes & the omelette arrived with both hash browns & the fruit. My husband asked about his order & the gal seemed surprised & said “oh! There’s two? So we figured she went back to get the other & waited & waited.. finally I started eating before my food got too cold. My husband went to the counter to ask about his food & only then was the order put it. I was long done with my food before he got his. Mistakes and miscommunications do happen & an apology would have been nice. As it was .. nothing! They could have at least comped the mocha. Ironically the table next to us forgot to specify the type of milk for her drink & was not charged for that drink. We weren’t rude & didn’t make a big deal or do a “Karen” on them but would have been less disappointed if they at least had acknowledged...
Read moreWe stood there for about 3 minutes waiting to even be greeted ,there was only one table of a small family who were finished eating so it wasn’t busy. When finally acknowledged from the pretty young lady, she wasn’t very service orientated to say the very least. Extremely weird set up and not super inviting atmosphere.I felt like I needed to wash my hands immediately. The only way to explain Jackson’s Cafe menu items would have to be Mexican Trailer park fusion. What’s with the obsession of nacho cheese on everything and the plethora of bologna items offered? I’m all for the ideology of “comfort food“ but let’s be real no one wants to eat gross sounding menu items. The only thing I’d consider even eating would be the breakfast burrito but other than that I can enjoy a plain sliced bread cold cut sandwich with Lays potato chips in the comfort of my home.I know running any dining establishment is HARD business. Step it up Jackson’s if you want to survive especially on the Oregon Coast.Your fancy drink menu and mediocre deserts aren’t...
