I had been wanting to go to this place because I heard the food was good. The area it is in is a little sketch but that has never bothered me. We went on a Tuesday night and I didn't think of a reservation because it was a Tuesday but I should have. The place was packed at 6:00. It's fortunate we could get a seat at the full bar, albeit an overflow seat, but we were greeted with a smile and our drink orders taken. We were finally offered 2 seats at the actual bar after we agreed we didn't need a table ( can't be picky if you didn't make a reservation) and ordered our food. We started with the garlic bread and red sauce appetizer. It was wonderful and the sauce had a bit of heat so that was a pleasant surprise. Next was the house salad with a simple oil and red wine vinegar dressing that reminded me of my Mother's, so of course I loved it. I ordered the 1/2 ravioli and 1/2 spaghetti and meatballs. Again with the delicious sauce and the meatballs were big and juicy and delicious as well. My guest ordered the lasagna ( I wanted it too but we decided to get different entrees so we could trade the take home box and enjoy both) it was delicious too! Served piping hot and melty and massive. I liked that they didn't overdo the cheese and the pasta tasted home made. There's a reason this is the oldest restaurant in Nevada. The family recipes have stood the test of time. This is a very casual place to go. It seemed that most of the clientele were regulars. The entire time we were there there were people streaming in the door hungry and looking for a great meal. I think one of the best features, besides that incredible sauce, is the friendly smiling staff. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get and I guarantee you won't leave hungry. I...
Read moreI really liked the atmosphere and vibe coming into this place. It also smelled amazing. I came here on a reccomendation from a random local, as i am not from the area. I really thought it was going to be amazing, considering every table was full, it smelled really good in there, and its the oldest family owned restaurant in nevada. That and the menu consisted of about 4 basic items; spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, and pizza. When a menu is that specific and/or specialized, its usually fantastic because if you only do a few things, you better do them better than anyone else. We had garlic bread and minestrone to start. The bread was a smashed sandwich roll. My soup literally had 2 noodles and one bean in it, it was also fairly bland. Guess i came in tok close to closing. We also tried tje cheese ravioli and lasagna. The plate looked great. The lasagne was covered with a baked on cheese crust, that was the best part. It wasn't terrible or anything. It was just a lot more mediocre than the hype made it out to be. I have also had the good fortune to have eaten world class quality italian food many times, so maybe i am just spoiled, and it was my taste. Like i said, certainly not the worst meal i ever ate, but iprobably wouldnt do it again. Also, slow service. I never got a refill on my water that was empty over half my meal. I had told the server that i would have wine with my entree. That didn't happen. And we sat about 7 or 8 minutes after finishing, with plates stacked on the edge of the table, before i finally had to get up and ask for a check. I wouldn't have been as upset about waiting if it had still been busy, but at That point, we were 1 of 2...
Read moreCasale's is a quaint authentic Italian family run restaurant since 1937 with a 7 stool bar and six Cafe tables. Plan on getting there early and spending a minimum of two - three hours for dinner as they especially make your individual dinner as ordered. They may have 16 lasagna dinners in the oven at one time but I'm telling you it is well worth the wait. We showed up at 7:40 pm on a Saturday night hoping to get served when the Yelp sight said the closed at 8:00. They were full except for two bar stools which we gladly took. We spent the next two hours enjoying the family working proudly at their establishment. They lost the Famous Great grandmother/founder recently along with her son two weeks later of whom died of Covid 19. The bar was very entertaining and the wait was well worth it. The side of garlic bread was served to hold you over but we enjoyed it so much that we couldn't save any for dinner and ordered another to come with dinner. The bread was so good it just about melted in your mouth! Then the Lasagna was served. Oh my, it was the best Lasagna I have ever had. So rich was the sauce with wonderful ricotta cheese served each in a single serve dish bubbling hot! Mmmmm, mmmm, mmmm. Can't say enough about this proud family and what they have done to keep their family tradition alive. One thing you need to know, cash only. ATM on site. Very clean. Wonderful ambiance music plays in the background from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison, Etc. Our bill after this fine evening with 3 beers was only $54.00! We were pleasantly surprised! This will be a regular place for us from now on for a very special...
