The WORST customer service I’ve experienced in a long time, first time in Reno, NV. We stopped at the outlets next door and they recommended us this place for decent prices on the seafood. Right off the bat “the sign to not me on phone while ordering” I knew wasn’t gonna be a good experience then while we are ordering she got mad because I said 1 taco at first then changed my might right away and said 2. She gave the meanest glare at the paper, and it was like that ruined her whole day! I understand being in a restaurant for long periods of time can be draining but if you literally hate your job so much you should quit! The shrimps in my food were old and over cooked and the salsa was so effin hot!!! Never in my life have I ever had such spicy Camarones a la diabla it’s almost like she told the cook to add in a habanero I ate it regardless cause I love spicy but they def did that on purpose. And the coctel of seafood also had old seafood in it we go to mariscos wherever we can and this was by far the worst! Please save your time and money and find another spot. I feel bad for putting this out there but this lady needs to find something she will love doing instead of being blatantly ...

You can order over the telephone and pick it up and your order is exactly as you ordered. They will give you the time frame to pick it up and it's very accurate actually. They have an amazing menu and very competitive pricing. The combo platters have beans and rice both are absolutely delicious and they have the authentic Hispanic crumbly cheese on top of them yum yum 😋 They have all of the authentic Hispanic food as well as a great seafood plate selection. I love their combination platters. I also really really really really really really really really really really love their green sauce. It's fabulous. 👌🏻 I am not a big fan of the teeny tiny enchiladas though which I think are corn. I like the flour tortillas better with regard to enchiladas. I would rather get two flour tortilla enchiladas then three teeny tiny corn enchiladas but that's just me. Otherwise I have nothing bad to say about them. There are a very popular restaurant and their food is absolutely delicious and their services superb. The best refried beans...

Let me Qualify my Opinion: You guys, Im from the peninsula, SF bay area and have ate more than my fair share of Mexican food. I lived in Sacramento after as I've been making my way from home, the less authentic the Mexican food has become, some of it downright gross and most of it, disappointing. As a chef, Im also heavily involved in the food community everywhere in California. I moved to Reno six months ago with my love who's family owns a Mexican restaurant in Stockton, CA.

My Review: I wish I had found this place sooner because I mightve have moved way before I actually did. The tamales are never dry, pizole is to die for (my only gripe with that is that I would've preferred cabbage to lettuce but hey!), carne en su jugo wasn't bland or overly salty, tomatillo sauce ON POINT. I LOVE the tripa tacos and get them about once a week, extra toasted. It doesn't matter if you are eating inside or taking the food to go, it is consistently amazing and I wont go anywhere else for my mexican food...

If I could rate this -10 Stars, I so would have .Sorriest nachos I've ever seen or tasted in my entire life. I'm honestly really upset and disgusted Taco El Rey would have the nerve to sell this to their customers.I couldn't tell if they were racist or just don't make their food with love, in fact no effort at all? I know for factual it's one of the two because the food I've bought previous from there has been very pity like these nachos. My 12 year old brother could have made them better than this. (Mostly cilantro and hard to eat chips, the meat was soggy and in big chunks;instead of shreded, hardly no cheese/sour creem, no beans like it was supposed to.) I'm very disappointed that they're still in business and I actually went back the 3rd time. In hopes of better days for Taco El Rey. (Also might I mention the flys that decided they wanted a bite as well!)

Omg!!! This place has great, delicious and flavorful food! We liked it so much we went back the next day. The torta haogada was not spicy at all. You have 3 options of salsas you can add to add spice if you want to. I skipped it because it was delicious on it’s own. The pozole was my next favorite. The meat and hominy were soft and the caldo was flavorful. The tacos de lengua were also really flavorful. They had the right amount of flavor, salt and was so tender. Once again their salsas are pretty yummy! Assorted drinks available. Customer service was amazing!!! Clean bathrooms. Many homeless people around this area but worth coming in.

Thanks for the cold Birria tacos that you guys wrapped in tinfoil and tried to hide at the bottom of the salsa bag!! It was like you guys pulled it out of your refrigerator in the back or something. I should've checked my food before i left the restaurant!! My wife's flautas looked more like rolled soggy tacos .. she asked for the toppings to be on the side and you guys couldn't even handle simple instructions.. to top it all off we found something on our chips while we were trying to eat those. Thanks for sending me to bed with a upset stomach. I've never had a experience like this before in my life. I will not be returning.
