I took my son, who was celebrating his 17th birthday today, to Heady's because he had never been and neither had I. We arrived a little after 3 PM on Saturday. We were greeted and seated immediately. Heady was moderately busy. First impressions the inside was neat and clean. Hostesses were friendly. Our hostess asked what we wanted to drink and gave us menus. Sweet tea for me, it was great. So much so I had 5 refills! My son had root beer. We ordered the fried pickles for appetizer and they were pretty good. Our main order was the Pig Nasty sandwich. Mine I switched to the onion rings. My son got same except for fries. Onion rings reminded me of the frozen ones you can get at the local store then deep fry. I thought my son's fries were better if only slightly. Now the sandwich. It was off the hook! A mass of meat on a pretzel bun with pepper jack and American cheese. A few caramelized onions and 2 thick slices of pepper bacon. We had several choices of BBQ sauce. My son and I used the habenero sauce. Some heat but a little sweet. To us it was perfect. We topped it off with 2 fried pecan pies with 2 scoops of vanilla icecream. It was out of bounds! We were both food drunk. It was FANTASTIC. I must say the rating is every bit of a strong 4. I think if the rings were home made, maybe a bigger size ring with better batter made with beer, and the fries done same or a spicy version, then this joint would be a 5. This is my opinion and my son's. Overall, definitely would recommend this place. I look forward to coming back again, but with my wife. She was a bit jealous of us because she too has wanted to come to Heady Bar-B-Co. Thank you for a ridiculously ridiculous sandwich and fried pie! It will be a birthday my son and I won't...
Read moreAnother great experience- 3 meat platter with burnt ends, brisket and ham to go! Pit beans are ok, not my favorite thing at Heady's and the sweet potato fries were good. The burnt ends (my go to) was great and its hard to believe but the thick cut ham slices and extra thick cut brisket were even better. Super friendly staff too! Will go back!
Update- love Heady BBQ! We had the Sampler platter. It comes with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, BBQ nachos, hot link, potato salad, beans, slaw and fries. (I substituted burnt ends for the ribs) It was all very tasty! While there were plenty of fries and nachos, we were suprised at how small the portions of brisket and pulled pork were. The menu says feeds 3 to 4... if you're feeding 4, each one is getting 1 bite each of both brisket and pulled pork and thats it. There was plenty of nachos and sides to eat but the portions of the main items (meat) was a little disappointing. Of course I will go back and I recommend Heady, a great BBQ joint. Their burnt ends are amazing! Super friendly staff, clean place and quick service!
Original review- Heady Bar-B-Que is always good! I usually get the same thing... the Burnt Ends! Yummm! I like their sauce too. I had the beans and slaw, they were fine but it's the meat that makes the meal when you're talking BBQ. Friendly staff, clean restaurant... I recommend and will...
Read moreI kept hearing wonderful things about this place but sadly was dissatisfied and disappointed the staff was wonderful. Incredibly nice and courteous the place looked like a nice play to hangout with friends or family. The food on the other hand was very mid. Overcooked. Dry. They dumped tons of bbq sauce on the burnt ends yet it tasted like a pot roast a child would have made me. Flat creek has much better for the same price. But if you don’t mind a drive I would highly suggest getting basted in nixa if you’re looking for that delicious mouth watering meats you imagine when you pull up to a bbq joint sadly republic is nothing but disgusting fast food and the few restaurants besides flat creek are just not that good and way over priced save your money take the extra couple min drive out to somewhere nice this place isn’t horrible just very average and for the price I think you expect something a little above average. For reference I tried practically everything except...
