J.R. Martin Park — Attraction in Republic

This is a lovely in city park that has a large play area for children. There were signs that said the play area was designed for 5+ yr olds but with supervision younger kids could enjoy aspects of it as well. Large trees were scattered across the park giving some shade to picnic tables. Off to one side of the park is a concrete amphitheater. There are 2 parking lots - one near the playground and one near the amphitheater which are on opposite ends of the park. If you have little kids wanting the play area and pull in to the lot by the amphitheater you may want to find the other...

The park is Well maintained and clean. Restrooms are respectable. There are tennis courts, a playground, Covered picnic area, playground, an ampatheatre, and a walking trail. there is sufficient parking also. The park is close to the railroad tracks however seperated by a chain link fence. There is plenty of grass to play other games such as football or soccer. The trail has some slight hills which make it fun to ride skateboards or Scooters on. Overall JR Martin Park is a nice place...

Beautiful park and the train going by every once in a while is actually kinda nice . It makes up part of the backdrop when sitting in front of the stage. There's something for everyone. they have onsite restrooms(Not Portapodies/john house/whatever you may call them) :-P. Dog friendly (on leash at all times i believe). Lots of seating and tables for gatherings or picnics. Kids jungle...
