Triple Eight’s Buffet Republic — Restaurant in Republic

Tried out the new buffet last week! So let me tell you I am a Chinese buffet freak!!! Since moving from Texas to Missouri, it's been a real challenge to find a buffet that offers quality product and a clean environment. Well, let me tell you, Triple Eight's Republic knocked it out of this EARTH!! When people first arrive at the restaurant, I think they are in awe when they see the buffet is one single long line. Well I'm here to tell you, that one single long line of products, is the best quality, best tasting, best maintained sanitary, buffet line in a 30 mile radius of the Springfield Missouri area. I have lived in the area now, almost 3 years and ventured out to many out lying areas to try different Chinese buffets, but none of them I ever wanted to return to. Triple Eights food quality was what I would consider five star quality! Based on the quality of their food and their amazing service, it doesn't matter how many pans of food you put out, it's what's in those pans that count! Believe me, I sampled just about every product and the savory taste and freshness of each and every item is why I am going back today for lunch!!!! I have to say that when I ate there last week, there were many people walking in the door that also had not been there before since their buffet is fairly new, and they kind of walked up to the buffet line and kind of took a general look and I think that their thought was wow there's not much food here because there's not eight sets of bars in the restaurant. Well, those people that turned around and left, you lost out!!!! All those other buffets in the Springfield Metropolitan area just don't hold a candle to. Triple Eight's Republic Buffett!!! Remember the old phrase, don't knock it till you've tried it!! In my opinion, every other buffet system out there, should come to Republic to see how Triple Eight's does it! Ordered Togo a few times and it was okay. Tried the buffet today because Diamond Head was closed. It was disgusting. I never leave reviews but I feel people need to be warned of this place. Flys all over the food. Nothing matched the label. They had some weird steak dish the meat was black n burnt most well done steak I've ever seen. The food looked like it had been sitting out a while (we went at 630 pm) salad was brown. Drink cup had lipstick on it. I genuinely think this is the worst food experience I've ever had. 2nd to jade east but darn near the same quality. Anyo e who gives it more than 2 stars does not eat Chinese food often. My stomach is churning as I write this. Go to Diamond Head if you want good buffet in republic it's cheaper too with more options.

Edit: Since the owner replied with a comment that I honestly don’t understand, let me clear things up. I’m not part of whatever you claimed I was. It was a party of two, not four. I didn’t want to go into all this, but here it is the owner treats their employees terribly. I saw it myself the one time I visited the Springfield location years ago, and there are plenty of posts online saying the same. The store reflects that behavior, too. My wife decided to order from there again recently (without me knowing), asked for sauce on the side, and there still wasn’t enough to cover the chicken. The oil tasted old and made me sick again....

I don't usually write reviews and never have written a bad one, but my gosh! First I was looking at the menu online and somehow it switched on me from China King in Republic to China King ON Republic Rd. Didnt realize this, called and placed order for a Happy Family, which is a mix of lobster, jumbo shrimp, chicken, pork and beef with vegetables and a brown sauce. The guy that answered the phone could not speak or understand English at all! I could hardly understand him and we had to repeat back and forth several times what each other was saying. Why he did not tell me they do not make Happy Family, like the China Kings in Springfield do, is beyond me! Got home and there was very little seafood in my dinner. I managed to find 4, maybe 5 pieces of shrimp all on one side of the dinner. None on the side I took out to eat that night. No lobster or any other seafood, just chicken and pork.
