First of all once arriving at 4pm to check into my room, the doors were locked on the front entrance to the inn and the side door was also locked. I had to walk to the gas station it’s attached to (was never made aware of that) and check in. They never asked for my id and I never signed anything.... alarming! Just handed me keys and ran my card. Was told I had to use the OUTSIDE EMERGENCY STAIRCASE to get to room. Who wants to lug luggage up an outside staircase if it’s hot humid and raining?!?!?? Very dangerous for my elderly mom who had to walk these as well!!!!! Get inside and all room doors are open. That’s not safe. Anyone could be hiding out in there and go in and take a nap on the “clean” beds. We were starving and looking forward to eating dinner that night at the cafe, but unfortunately they don’t update information and it’s not open 5-9 on Friday and Saturday night. The owner is VERY RUDE. I believe her name is Faye? Will never go back and will spend a little extra to be treated good and feel safe at another hotel. Not all of the rooms had irons and ironing boards either! You definitely get what you...
Read moreWe were on our way back home (Texas) from visiting Savannah, GA, when Google maps insisted we take a new route home. Typically, we go south but this time our route sent us through a little town called Reynolds and my husband couldn't wait for the next Cracker Barrel in Columbus so when I pointed out the Cotton Gin Cafe he all but sent the car drifting into the parking lot as I reflexively grabbed the "Oh Shit!" bar.
Anyways, we both enjoyed a tasty country breakfast, service was fast and friendly and we were entertained by eavesdropping on the locals conversations. The neighborhood 'Chatty Kathy' wasn't letting anyone get away without asking about their family and going-ons for the day, lol.
Their biscuits are very tender and fluffy, the French toast was good, and the Telerra (sp?) Roll was good too, basically a breakfast sandwich on a ciabatta bun. The French toast was a little on the cooler side and the bacon was a little hard, but overall, it was good. If Google sends us back this way next time, we'll probably plan to have...
Read moreWe stopped by traveling through after seeing it many times and taking a chance. We opted for the food on the line instead of ordering from the menu. They had fried pork chops, so me and my two friends were excited. Sadly the pork chops were cold and not seasoned in the least. We also watched as the lady moved the bigger pieces to the side and have all three of us much smaller pork chops then the one she first grabbed. The sides were much of the same, cold and not much in the way of flavor. Maybe we visited on an off day or came at the wrong time, but me and my friends won’t be...
