This is the second time I have eaten at Mi's Korean Kitchen, and not putting a 5-star review up on Google feels like a disservice to food lovers and a slight to the universe for blessing me with such good food and the overall experience I have had twice now. I can say with just about 100% certainty that this place can cure anyone of mid-morning/early-afternoon hangry-ness.
Each time I have visited Mi's Korean Kitchen, I have been pleasantly greeted by Mrs. Mi, who is incredibly welcoming, ushering me to her "most comfortable" chairs and immediately doting on me with anything I could possibly need. She is very patient, walking me through her menu and helping my wife and me navigate the gluten-free options. This care allowed my wife to try the Korean Fried Chicken with honey garlic sauce and a side of purple rice, while I ordered the fried tempura crispy shrimp with the Hot Stone Bibimbop.
The tempura crispy shrimp was out of this world—light and flaky with a crunch, but the inside shrimp remained delicate and juicy with each bite. It was paired with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce that I consumed with the utmost gusto. I also tried my wife's Korean Fried Chicken, and it did not disappoint; it just made me a little jealous. The chicken was delicately fried, light and crispy on the outside with a hot and succulent inside. It was paired with a sweet but spicy honey garlic dipping sauce that was clearly homemade.
My main dish, the Hot Stone Bibimbop, arrived steaming and was loaded with delicious pork and vegetables. The pork was moist, tender, and incredibly flavorful, accompanied by tender vegetables. To top it all off, at the bottom of the bowl, I discovered crispy purple rice that had continued cooking while I ate everything else piled atop it. The combination of textures and flavors was simply divine.
The love and care put into this food are palpable with every bite. Mrs. Mi's personal touch, her welcoming demeanor, and her attention to detail make dining at Mi's Korean Kitchen a truly exceptional experience. I will be returning, and I implore anyone even remotely curious about this place to check it out! It’s the best Korean food I have had, and I'm sure you’ll agree once you experience it...
Read moreI get that there aren't many (if any) Korean restaurant around this area but to overrate this dump with 5 star reviews are nothing but lies and deception. It's located inside a rundown old barn, not easy to find. They had no customers. Menu only had few items and told that they don't make any of their food but buy frozen from Korean stores. Thus, passed on their potstickers and ordered Jajangmyeon and their self-claimed popular wings who her daughter claimed it was really good. Absolutely the worst I've ever had. The lady didn't bother to drain the water out after boiling the noodles and made the black bean sauce with her plastic spoon... not kidding. The result was a sloppy brown soup that tasted way too sweet, served with ZERO sides items and told her so when she asked how the food was. Her response was, "we don't make jajangmyeon much but hope you enjoy it anyway!" then why have it in their menu? Two of us couldn't finish one bowl so moved on to their chicken.. oh what a gamey tasting chicken it was for $16 dollars they charged for 12 wings with two different sauces, which results from cooking an old raw outdated chicken. No, they do not wear masks or clean up the tables afterwards since it was sticky, dirty, and bad as their service and food was. Her attitude was even worse after charging $30 for...
Read moreDelicious! I love that Mi clearly makes her own sauces and they are so balanced and tasty. We tried: Spicy Rice Cakes (떡볶이), which was lightly sweet, really good flavor, and spicy. Usually, good sauce is thick but the flavor ranges and doesnt nexessarily get into the rice cakes. Mi's was soupier AND deeper flavored, so there's no burn left on your lips. The kids and adults liked the crispy dumplings (kimchi and pork). They're really savory and have a crunchy casing and the inside isn't meatball like. And that was a nice surprise for me. It held the juice every bite. We got some fried chicken, which was lightly battered and flavorful with or without sauce. But DO try the sauces. Honey Garlic and Spicy Sweet Gochujang were reallllly nice! We tried different things with them too. We enjoyed the Sweet Spicy BBQ pork, which was like sliced steak. Very tender and tasty- not a Korean smoky but very good BBQ. Kimbab - We got the regular. It was more generous and chubby than slender and refined. And this is part of the Mi experience - clean, flavorful, her own, and really nice textures. We're planning to try the pancakes next time! And we're bringing friends! So nice...
