Okay, Resilient I'm concerned. Let me start by saying I love your espresso. I have never had a bad drink at your coffee house. I have been formally trained as a Barista and have managed a coffee house myself. My husband has a degree in wine science. Also, for the record my husband and I seek out amazing coffee. We recently took a road trip from Seattle to Monterey, CA and stopped at every single top rated coffee house (according to Epicurus) and roastery along the way. Needless to say, we are qualified to understand the subtle nuances of flavor and quality. The last two times I've been to Resilient I've felt like I'm stepping into a battle with your Baristas. I completely understand your desire to make coffee as traditionally as possible maximizing the flavor profile of your espresso. I appreciate that. Today I ordered a 12 oz cappuccino with a little bit of vanilla and was told no. So, I ordered a 12 oz latte with vanilla (a little, i don't like it sweet) and extra foam and was given a line about how they make micro foam and therefore I could not have extra foam since that wasn't traditional. For the record, as a Barista the only foam you should be making is micro foam. I know what it means to have healthy foam. And I want more if it. Will that throw the traditional ratio of espresso to milk to foam to flavor off a little bit? Traditionally yes, but as someone who knows the ins and outs of the coffee world my personal taste is for a little extra foam and something to cut the bite. I ended up leaving today empty handed because I had been told "no" by your Barista 4 times in one conversation - essentially saying that no matter what my taste preference was wrong and she was not going to make my drink (that I'm paying for) in that way .
For the record, the one star is because I was not able to actually get coffee. The espresso when I've had it in the past is...
Read moreResilient is always a great place to go and have a wonderful coffee. They are a bit different from the owner’s other stores, Roasters, in their coffee selection, but they are just a different choice for people to have. The pastries are wonderful, I recommend having one with your brew. From the maple cider to a Cortado to a pour over or Aeropress, it’s hard to not find something for everyone at Resilient. As a bonus, you can watch the master at work and see the beans being roasted fresh on lost days. Come on over to Resilient and see what this place is all about. Settle into the couch or a table, relax, and let time pass by as you enjoy a few peaceful moments as your lovingly made drink soothes you and lifts your spirits on a cold PNW day, or cool off in the heat with some cold brew. Bring a growler for cold brew fills, grab some fresh beans (hard to beat when you can often find them with that days date for roast) and sit for a bit before you head back into the...
Read moreI hope Aaron reads these. I don't believe in giving bad reviews unless they're really truly earned. Your staff demonstrated nice and efficient customer service to the drive-thru and in-store customers. As an Uber Eats person i was acknowledged and then ignored. All new orders placed after i arrived were processed before they suddenly remembered me. Not joking...store and drive thru were empty when they discovered i was still there. 10 minutes later. Not getting paid any extra for the longer wait. Meanwhile the online customer is also waiting longer, and being penalized simply because they can't leave their desk but really wanted your products, enough so to pay delivery fees and a small tip. Please make sure your staff is aware that online offers should be just as important...
