The management of this place is terrible. I wish I could give them NO stars. Well, maybe they deserve one star for the tasty chicken wings, but—honestly— I've had better... and my overall experience here about two years ago was really off-putting. RANT FOLLOWS My family of 7 enjoyed a pretty sizable dinner here, spending a good deal more than $100 on food and drinks. My girlfriend's cousin's band was playing at the place that night, so we all came out. Not everybody could stay for the full show, but me (19yo), her (21yo) and her younger sis (18yo) all stayed. The younger chick and I went outside to smoke and when she came back in, she walked right over to our table and sat down. I, on the otherhand, was accosted by a "bouncer." A morbidly obese man wearing street clothes stopped me and asked for my ID. I told him I was underage and wasn't drinking, and he told me I had to leave. I had asked our server earlier in the night if the show was all-ages and he said it was, so I was confused. I explained, and even pointed out the server, Matt, who'd told me so. The bouncer kept shaking his head like he wasn't listening, and then a shorter, very aggressive middle-aged guy walked over, threw his hands up in the air, started talking about how it was "against the law" for underage folks to be in the restaurant after 10p.m. He said "how many bars do you know that let kids in at night?!" I said that not only is this place not legally a bar, but a place of public accommodation—a restaurant, but I could also name several REAL bars in the area that do that very thing, including Headliners Music Hall in Louisville, Cosmic Charlie's in Lexington and (now closed)Busters. He kept demanding I leave or he would "get that guy over there—he's a cop." Knowing I had every right to be in the place so I could finishing eating my food (which was still on the table) and watching the show, I told him I'd be happy to speak to a police officer about him denying me service after a transaction had already been completed. He balked, started backpedaling and telling me that he didn't want to get in trouble with the Alcohol Control Board. I was on the verge of making a scene at this point, and my girlfriend noticed. She's very timid in public, so she asked that we just leave and not push it. I decided I'd just call back and complain in the morning. When I and my mom called back the next day and asked to speak with a manager, the OWNER came to the phone with a "Yeah. What do ya want?" Turns out, he was the shorter guy yelling about how he would "call the police" and "get that guy over there..." He hung up on us and wouldn't answer repeated phonecalls. Can't believe such a jerk has kept a place open that long. Needless to say my family (most of them EKU alums) haven't been—and won't be– back.
tl;dr-Got carded here AFTER I'd already paid for food and been told the concert that night would be "all ages." The owner himself kicked me out and threatened to call the police and refused to apologize the next day when I called... even...
Read moreI've only been there once thus far, I had one beer right when I got there, it was a German import, they have a decent import selection. After the beer it was water and food for the rest of the night for me. I ordered some nachos at first and some fries later. I recommend that you do NOT get the nachos, they are rather expensive and they still charge you extra for sour cream. They nachos were described to me as "huge" which compared to other bars that I've gotten nachos at, it was both smaller and lower quality. The cheese was minimal and chili used on them was super watery. By the time they brought the nachos out the only ones that weren't soggy were the ones on the very outer edge. I had to try eating it with a fork before I gave up and issued a complaint to my server about how soggy it was and she just said "it's because the chili." There was no offer to get fresh nacho chips or anything. So it seems they didn't care that their food was subpar. I next ordered some fries because I was still hungry and had wasted 9.50 on a meal I couldn't eat, and well you can't really screw up fries. The server did a good job of keeping up with us for the most part, although I think she may have been a little overworked just because she was serving about 1/3rd of the bar. The karaoke was fun, I didn't sing, but I love hearing drunk people sing. So that was refreshing, but doesn't make up for the poor quality of the nachos that ordered. TL;DR- Stay clear of the nachos if you go here. Karaoke is fun. Fries are ok. It's hard to screw up imports...
Read moreI have to admit that when I've visited Madison Gardens in Richmond. I've only done carry out i've never stayed. However, I am aware of the music, and events for football games. New years, and Halloween. I get the Madison Garden Burger. It's got bacon, sautéed mushrooms, grilled onion and you can pick what cheese you want on the burger. From a list of cheese they've got but hey it's a little bit to mix things up. There Chicken wings. Are something. Like you see most people commenting there Wings, are considered to be around the best in Richmond, Now, I can not personally claim their wings being the best in Richmond, Because I have not tried every saucey wings for all the establishments in Richmond Kentucky. But I will say that when there is a gaming party. You better believe this place is going to have chicken orders in a crazy fashion. My family use to get wings form here when we had our Christmas Party. I'm curious about their pizzas Da Bomb looks interesting and so i might try different menu items and list what i think. I've got to admit that sometimes the food hasn't always been prepared to the best of the doing. But I've had worst mess up from other places. I can not complain regarding the service. it's always been friendly when i've been there. So that's my Review on Madison Garden. Enjoy Hopefully it's been helpful. ...
