Mi Jalisco Family Méxican Restaurant — Restaurant in Richmond

I am so glad I found this restaurant! I love Mexican food and have tried many other places, none compare to this little piece of heaven. The cashiers/servers are always very nice. Sometimes there is a little language barrier depending on who is at the counter but we get through it! I usually place my orders to go online since COVID but they have never gotten an order wrong and the food is always cooked to perfection! The food is usually ready in about 15 minutes! If I could eat here everyday I would! I usually get the Pollo Asado which is smothered with grilled onions! The margaritas are pretty darn good too, not watered down! I have even gotten my husband hooked and he is normally not a fan of Mexican food but now he is in love with the Fajitas Pacifico! I deducted 1 star only bc the containers they use to put the food in are a little flimsy...if I slice my chicken too hard it will cut through the bottom of the container. Since that happened I am just more careful and cautious when I do it. Also parking can be hard to find but I can't really penalize them for the many people who want to patronize their restaurant, who can blame them? The number of positive reviews make me question what happened. This first meal is something I would not repeat. The house salad was delivered with no utensils and no dressing, the latter wouldn't have helped much. I see avoid iceberg lettuce, but that was the main ingredient along with onions, some soft tomatoes and bland cucumber with tasteless cheese on top. I held out hope for the Enchiladas Jalisco. Oy. Salty, soft, GMO potatoes in soft tortillas with more tasteless cheese, this one was white and melted on top. The Spanish Rice was almost good but again not much flavor No idea what the tortilla chips were for, but there were plenty and I didn't like them, so they remain in the bag. Same with what just looked like another salad except a smaller amount of the iceberg and some white cream sumpin' on top - maybe sour creme? I had plenty 'salad' already, so it too stayed in the bag. Bad night? Bad reviewer? Rare alignment of planets??? Or just a very pedestrian set of ingredients presented as a lack-luster meal. Going back for more would be a hard...

The low rating is not about the food taste. The food is ok. The low rating is about customer service when you call for a pick up order. The online menu is not honored. In the online website clearly says that the drinks are included in all kids meal. So when I called the guy on the phone told me the menu there was changed and they haven’t change it online. Thats not customers problem. They should and have to honor what ever shows online. That is their mistake and excuse. And I asked him, so based on what is online, that says is included can I have it? He was not very nice and said: NO, SOMETHING ELSE? I told him they have to fix the online menu. Is misleading and wrong, period. IT IS WRONG. The soft drink wont matter anymore, is the very bad customer service. It was just a soft drink and that is SHOWING ONLINE for childrens menu, very poor and bad customer service.
