Ginter Park Branch - Richmond Public Library — Attraction in Richmond

This is actually a really nice library. I was stuck in Lakeside for a few hours while my car was getting fixed. After a scrumptious and nutritious Taco Bell breakfast--you can fit a lot of delicious in a crunchwrap--I stumbled down the street through overgrown grass and one barren wasteland of a parking lot to find this literary gem. There was actually a surprisingly good selection of new books, and I grabbed a few and brought them back to a table. I had a water bottle with me, and no sooner than I had set it down, one of the librarians zoomed over and told me that the table was NOT for water bottles. In fact, I was not even supposed to have one! I was sort of annoyed, but I understood her concern.

Later, I answered a call from the car place in a somewhat decent indoor voice. BAM, another librarian crashed into view and said that I MUST talk outside. Again, I was sort of annoyed because there were a few other people who had been laughing and talking in the sparsely populated library, and they had been given no such attention. I quickly took my short call outside, however.

Now as I look back and ponder that library experience, I actually am very happy that there is a library that still enforces basic library etiquette. I think it is because I have been dealing with the nonsense that occurs on the "quiet" floors of the VCU library that I accidentally slipped back into being a jerk. Thank you, Ginter Park Library. Didn’t have any problems with this library until a white lady spoke to my 2 year old daughter in a VERY rude manner because my daughter pulled a bin of books out instead of coming to me being that I was the parent. They have to do better with taking credit cards need to accept all types and also the storytime the last time I came up there it was no storytime they didn't put it on the website plus the staff members didn't do storytime when there was at least 5 staff members sitting and just talking I always walk up to the library with my daughter just for it no apologies or anything please do better thats...
