My mission was to find some really good BBQ. My husband has a firm belief ( and I agree) small business BBQ is the best. We’re traveling so I looked for a business not too far off of I-75. I think it was 7 min or so from I-75. When our gps was spouting directions I almost thought we were going th wrong way because it looked like we were headed into a residential area but as soon as we turned we saw the smokers and smelled delicious BBQ. The building is older but very clean. The tables were decorated for the season. While it’s fall it’s still warm outside but a refreshing cool inside. Pricing is on par for BBQ. If you are able to pay cash you can get a free drink with your meal if it’s over $10 ( at time of review) we did not have quite enough cash so opted to use our card. While waiting for the food we conversed with the wonderful matriarch. She had her granddaughter laughing. They also have a map that you can pin your location of where you’re from. The Food: Yum! Fall off the bones ribs was delicious. No leftovers. The Mac n cheese was the best I believe I’ve ever had. Hint I put a little of their Smitty’s BBQ in it which made it even better. We had the Cajun Ranch Fries hold the Cajun and opted for regular fry seasoning instead. Those were really good too but I am full and like to try other menu items next time so I might hold off on the fries to make room for one of their other sides. This is the BBQ we were looking for. The only easy improvement I may recommend would be music. But I was there for the food which was 10/10!

It's one of those places where you walk in (watch the step!) and you immediately know you've come to the right spot. It's a BBQ shack that feels like a home away from home for the people there, meaning it feels lived in some. The menu is the right size and still has enough variety. The place has got a welcoming vibe, and the person who served me was very friendly and pointed me in the right direction for getting my food on. I don't know her name, but I called her ma'am. BBQ sounded good, but that catfish jumped out at me from the menu today. It was so damned good, and I'm thrilled because (outside of sushi) I haven't had good fish at a restaurant in a while. Got some coleslaw with it, which was unique and tasty as well. I come from a town where every restaurant used the same heavily mayonnaise-based recipe for coleslaw, so I love it when there's a coleslaw unique to a restaurant that delivers on the goods That was a meal unto itself, but I had to have a sample of something else. I ordered six wings to top it all off. The wings were a little small (which I oddly like because I'm peculiar with my wings), so it seems they gave me nine total to make up for it. I went with the breaded/spicy-bbq flavor, and they were on point as well, crispy with a good sauce. After she took my order, she told me I could take a seat because there would be a small wait since everything is made fresh. See!? I told you I knew I was in the right spot when I walked in, and that's exactly what I want to hear! I'm definitely going back soon.

Wonderful!!! Service was outstanding! We called last minute hoping to be able to get some smoked wings, and enough of them to feed more than 20 Eastern Kentucky University baseball players. To say they they went above and beyond is an understatement. They made sure we were taken care of. I was immediately greeted with a welcoming smile when I walked in to pick up our order. I was also helped out to my car. The food was delicious! The meat was full of flavor and literally fell off the bone. Both the chicken wings and ribs were delicious! I also loved the bbq sauce. To be honest, the wings did not even need sauce. The guys left no crumbs. They raved about the food. Smitty's has made fans for life! We will be back! And I guarantee you'll have some baseball players visiting soon. Thank you so much!!
