V8 kitchen — Restaurant in Richmond

If you’re looking for a great spot to grab Chinese food in Richmond, V8 Kitchen on Macdonald Ave is definitely worth checking out. My wife and I found this place on Google Maps while looking for something new to try—and we’re glad we did! The photos and menu looked promising, and we were in the mood for a good lunch date.

As soon as we walked in, the lady who took our order greeted us with a warm welcome and helped us feel right at home. She was quick, polite, and made the whole experience feel personal. The place had a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for a casual and relaxing couple’s lunch.

The food? Excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. You can tell they put care into their dishes, and it shows in the taste. The prices were also really fair for the quality and portion size.

Some of the best Chinese takeout in the area! Prices are slightly above those of local competitors, but the portion sizes are large and the quality makes it worth it.

I knocked off a star because I did find the turnaround speed to be pretty slow. It was a full 25 minutes from the time I put my order in until I walked out with my food, and they didn't appear that busy otherwise. Hopefully, this was a fluke and next time it'll be faster.

Solid inexpensive family run Chinese food in a hole in the wall diner atmosphere. Generous amounts of homemade wontons and tender chicken in the wonton soup. Popcorn chicken was tender with light batter and not greasy (would be even better with a sprinkle of furikake or fried basil). The bbq pork chasu fried rice was good (could have used a little more egg, will ask them to add more next time). All fresh and cooked to order.
