OEC Japanese Express — Restaurant in Ridgeland

This review is specific to this location only, not OEC JAPANESE EXPRESS as a whole. Lakeland Drive, Madison hwy 51, and Brandon are consistently very Good and always friendly. Now on to my review of the lake harbour location - food is inconsistent. FRIED Rice Sometimes It's very Good, others not so much. Sushi is never that great, very little fish in the raw sushi, and the speciality rolls are not made like any of the other oecs. The only reason I've frequented this location is Bc It's right by my house. My ultimate complaint about this location is the very unfriendly and rude staff. I get my food to go most of the time because I feel uncomfortable eating there. If I do dine in It's Bc I don't feel like paying the 25cent charge for a little pink sauce container. When you dine in, you get a massive bottle of pink sauce put on your table. The pink sauce there is amazing, as it is at every OEC in the Jackson area. If you like hibachi, Japanese fried rice, or sushi, I definitely recommend going to OEC. It's pretty much a fast food Japanese restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. Just go to one of the other locations, and If you do go to the lake harbour location, I would advise skipping out...

Yesterday around 8:30pm Sept 21,2023 my girlfriend and I bought Chicken and Steak Fried Rice I ate all of my food and she ate alittle of hers this morning at 6am Sept 22,2023 We both wake up Throwing up mine is severe and extreme diarrhea. I waited for the store to open to inform them to check their food and the manager got very rude with me and said that “I just wanted free food” and I told him that is not the case considering I got food poisoning from your establishment.He also told me that maybe I ate something else and implied that I was lying because I was the only person that called in for being sick Horrible interaction on that behalf and be careful when ordering...

I like the other locations, but this one is HORRIBLE! I have always had issues with the staff and their customer service, but they were so rude tonight that I can now say I will NEVER go back. The staff is rude, condescending, and unpleasant. The quality of food is much lower than the other locations. I am not sure the name of the "gentleman" I dealt with tonight, but all I have to say is RUDE! When a customer asks a question and the response is "Well what do you want me to do about it?".......
