Whoever this lady is should be fired. And if she’s the owner, how pathetic.
I cannot believe the way we were treated at this restaurant. We arrived during a slow period — the place was half empty — and were seated by a manager/server. But as soon as she realized we were only ordering two entrees (for two people, mind you), she suddenly decided our table wasn’t good enough for us and made us move.
Yes, she physically made us change seats in a nearly empty restaurant, all because we weren’t spending enough money to justify the table, in her eyes. She did this even after seeing that I was on crutches and wearing a knee brace, having just had knee surgery less than a month ago. No apology, no regard for the fact that moving was clearly difficult and painful for me.
This level of greed and lack of basic decency is disgusting. I’ve dined in countless restaurants and never been treated so disrespectfully. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re treated like a nuisance just for not spending beyond what’s reasonable for two people.
There are too many great restaurants in Ridgewood to waste your time or money on a place that values profit over human decency....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at SGD tofu house, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a comforting Korean meal.
We ordered the Soondubu Jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew), and it was absolutely spot on—rich, flavorful broth with silky tofu that melted in our mouths. The spice level was just right, and it came out bubbling hot, just as it should! The marinated beef (galbi) was tender and packed with flavor, grilled to perfection. The japchae had the perfect balance of sweetness and savory notes, with springy glass noodles and crisp vegetables. The seafood pancake was golden and crispy on the outside, loaded with fresh seafood inside. And the fried shrimp? Perfectly crispy, juicy, and addictive!
Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and authentically Korean. The side dishes (banchan) were also delicious, adding the perfect touch to the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
