Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in River View Township

Go inside to eat, drive through is incredibly slow. It can take up to an hour to get through drive through, but inside is lightning fast. 2025 Update: the managers are horrible people who are unprofessional and are agist against their own staff and customers, blaming all their problems on the younger generations and spew Republican retorics and catch phrases. All I did was ask for a refund on my drink because there was mold on the ice dispenser spout and the cups were dirty. She blew up at me about how "no one wants to work" and "your generation has no work ethic". I told her I didn't want to hear it and she continued to rant. I told her I work 60 hours a week and my niece has 3 jobs to make ends meet and she said thaty niece was "the only one". I told her all of my nieces and nephews have jobs, that not a single one of age to work was unemployed and she said she didn't believe me and that all her workers call out too much. She repeated the phrase "no one wants to work" multiple times. I didn't have the time not the patience to explain to her that I'd call out too if I had to work for her. When I told her that if they paid their workers what they're worth then they'd show up to work and she had the audacity to say "it's fast food, they don't even deserve the $15/hr they're getting" and I damn near told her to stfu.

I asked for her name and she immediately stopped her rant and offered me a full refund. I told her that I just wanted her name and she gave me a full refund anyways. She legit tried to bribe me with a full refund to not report her.

We really enjoyed Steak and Shake while we were visiting my nephew in Illinois. We don't have it in Louisiana so we didn't know how it would be. We ate at it every chance we could get while we were up there we loved it!! We all ate Burgers of different sizes shapes and combination I don't remember everything that we had except for that we had Burgers and Fries of I know I had one with grilled onions and cheese on it and it was absolutely delicious we all enjoyed everything they were happy to cook it to any brown this that you wanted because we all like ours very Brown because that was the way our mother cook them and we'd still enjoy of that way. I know my niece had all kinds of things on hers all the extras that she saw there that you can't get just anywhere she's like 12 and she put everything in the world over there that you can't usually get she thought it was great. My sister is very picky it she never likes anything and she wanted to eat there I think we ate there like four times while we're in Illinois so you know we enjoyed it and we were only there for a week so we practically ate there every day I think one day we ate there twice or something I'm not sure. I placed my order on the app. Once I arrived at the restaurant for curbside pickup and woman came out and said they have trouble with their app orders and asked what my name because they did not have any orders. I showed her my confirmation number and where the amount was pending in my bank account. The woman then says "let me go back in and see if the order comes through in a few minutes and if it does not I will come back out and get your order from you". After almost 15 minutes I walk in and a man asks if he can help me, I pointed to the woman and said she was going to let me know if my order from the app made it in to your system yet. The woman then admits she completely forgot about my order and that I was still waiting outside, but the order never made it to their system. I wasted my entire lunch because she forgot I was waiting and no one was the least bit apologetic about the misunderstanding nor did anyone ask what my order was so they could get it started. All the man said was it was never processed as a sale on their end so my pending charge would go away. Since neither seemed concerned about assisting the customer, I turned around and left and went to McDonalds.
