Read moreY’all lied!! This food photographs well, but is not good! Now I’m from Southern California so maybe my bar is too high for a DMV Mexican spot. And if you aren’t from southern cali or haven’t had Mexican food there, then you may like this place, so I won’t say don’t try it. Maybe the birria is what they do good and maybe that’s where I messed up because I didn’t get the birria. But let me tell you… NOTHING else had flavor. I ordered the chicken flautas and a carne asada taco for quality control. I feel like the carne will tell you how good the food will be. The carne had NO FLAVOR whatsoever, the chicken inside the flautas also completely flavorless, the green salsa also flavorless, red just tasted like chipotle peppers but again no real flavor and definitely no spice… Now I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flautas came in an order of 5 along with refined black beans and Mexican rice. But…. it’s hard to mess up Mexican rice and it too was flavorless. Only thing that had any flavor was the refried black beans and they were borderline too salty. Then I asked if they had guacamole, the young lady said yes, I asked if it was like a crema or a sauce or actual guac, she said guac and it would come on the side… bet!! So I paid $4.19 for this GUACAMOLE, got home and it was actually 1/2 of an avocado sliced. $24 (including a Jarritos) and I threw the food away. I will say the pricing was decent for the amount of food you got, I just wish it tasted better to me. I had high hopes, but needless to say I’m...
Read moreWhen I first pull up to this kind of corner lot establishment, I didn't think much of it, I was just there because the pictures of their food always looks so good when I am searching for something new to eat. So I was only able to take a picture of the quesabirria ( hope I spelled it right), but I also ordered the Asado (grilled steak) fajitas. It was so good I ate it before I remembered to take a picture of it. The steak is so tenderand you can tell it has been marinaded for a while... so much flavor, it comes with delicious rice, black beans (not watery at all), and the shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, cucumber and radish slices with lime wedges. I don't use the tortillas so I prefer to eat it like a platter. The juices from the pico de gallo blends into the shredded lettuce along with the slices of cucumbers and radish and I eat it like a salad. It's so delicious that you don't even realize the slight bite from the jalapeños in the pico de gallo. But it's there and it bites so nice. The quesabirria on the other hand, we are still talking about super delicious but with a different kind of fantastic. Crunchy but not messy, juicy so cradle it with a napkin and the party of cilantro and several other flavors will mingle on your tongue that with every bite you will taste a whole different spice that you didn't notice in the last bite. You have to try it out. AWESOME...
