For the Franco's Taqueria in GLASSBORO, -NOT- RIVERSIDE (there is no google page for it yet).
This is a new restaurant that opened in the same spot of my old favorite Mexican restaurant, Hernandez. I went here knowing that it would never compare, but was shocked to find out that it's the worst Mexican I've ever had. Honestly (I REALLY mean this), I would rather go to Taco Bell than to ever come here again. Do not be fooled. While it still may look like Hernandez, it could NOT be more different. I ordered 3 Al Pastor tacos with chips. The chips tasted like cardboard and came with a bland green sauce the size of a thimble. Pork in the Al Pastor was cut into squares the size of a cheerio WITH FAT STILL ON IT! How you still manage to get fat on meat after cutting it that small, I will never know. The pineapple (if you could call it that) was barely there in thin shreds. The tacos were the size of a toddler's hand. For 99 cents, it was advertised that you could get cilantro, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream, so I did. Sounds good, right? There was no cilantro or onions. The cheese (while advertised on the menu as cotija) was obviously Shoprite Brand 'Mexican' cheese. They also forgot the sour cream. The food was bland and outright disgusting. I couldn't even finish my meal despite having paid $9 for it. I saw one of the regulars of Hernandez (a Mexican worker) on his lunch break. He got the menu, stared at it for a minute, look up at Franco's, threw it away, and left without a second glance. I should have known better. Just because you're near a college doesn't give you the excuse to serve food that only black out drunk college students would eat ONLY because their Rowan Card pays for it. There is no amount of money you could offer me to eat this pathetic excuse for...
Read moreI just moved to town and heard good things about Francos. OMG they did not disappoint! I had the mixed fajitas & they were awesome. Tender juicy chicken and steak along with perfectly cooked shrimp & veggies. The seasoning was really really good & the juices flavored up the rice underneath the meat and veggie mixture.
My companion got the fish tacos and they were really tasty as well. The fish was flaked into small pieces as opposed to chunks like we expected, but that didn't make a difference to the yummy yummy flavor.
The only negative thing I could say was the tortillas were a bit underdone so they fell apart easily. Since we got our order to go, it wasn't an issue...i popped each of them on the gas burner of the stove for a minute or so to get a little char & all was right in our world😃
We ate our fill that night, then the next day I had the leftover fish taco for lunch & the rest of my fajitas for dinner. 2 meals wound up feeding us 4 times🎉
Will DEFINITELY be a regular customer👍

Read moreAuthentic and delicious. as soon as the (what i think to be) homemade corn tortilla chips touch your mouth... you know. you know you found heaven. the salsa, which comes complimentary by the way, is the absolute greatest salsa in existence. and don't even get me started on the guacamole!!! it's the kind of guacamole that makes you wonder, is there an avocado tree growing in the back of this place, fresh for the picking? Anyway, the tacos were just as amazing. my friend reached for a bite and i involuntarily swatted their hand away! this little town is pretty neat too, with some interesting history... apparently some lady became a human rights activist after her son was murdered by the KKK, oh, and ben franklin's son was the governor at one point! sooo, bottom line, if you're planning an expensive trip to mexico, just stop, because i guarantee you a visit to this joint will be...
