Armando's Mexican food — Restaurant in Riverside

I like this place. I'm pretty picky when it comes to eating Mexican food. Great rolled tacos! They ask you if you want chicken or beef (this is shredded beef) to me this means they are made fresh to order. Usually at other places it's only one meat & they are pre-made & frozen. The guacamole is really good too. Their rice is pretty tasty & so are the beans. I've had the sope, carne asada quesadilla, hard & soft shell tacos, chicken enchiladas, breakfast burrito (eggs, ham, potatoes, & cheese), and the menudo. I've liked everything I've tried so far. I really like their green salsa. The prices are fair. I have noticed that they do catering. The inside dining area has always been clean. I don't think I've ever seen it before left dirty by patrons or not kept clean by the store staff. The woman's bathroom has always been clean as well. They do dine in, to go orders & they accept cards & cash for payment. They do accept cash tips as well. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is because they do not offer to go menus. My employer buys us lunch often & I would like to give my boss a printed menu. The staff is always very nice. Try it, I hope...

Went in to buy my son a Taco since we were eating Next door & he wanted a Chicken Taco. So o ordered the taco the lady charged me $3.64 for 1 tacos. To my surprised I thought that's a little too much for 1 taco. I didn't say anything and paid for it. When I was waiting for my order I was seeing the menu & saw that it said "street taco $1.99" so I asked the lady their that the tacos said $1.99 & why did she charged me $3.64 She replied those are the small tacos. Let me remind you that she never said there was 2 prices for tacos. This really bothers me because she clearly knew the taco I ordered was for my son as I was asking him if he wanted Chicken or Carne Asada, why wouldn't you ask if I wanted the big or small taco? Usually there is only 1 size of taco but clearly not here. It seemed as if she wanted to make that extra $1.64 since the place was lonely. Decent food, at a decent price (although the hard-shell tacos are expensive for meat, lettuce and cheese).

After ordering a standard bean & cheese burrito and ground beef taco, I was surprised when 3 people that ordered after me (and much more complicated orders) received their food, and not until I walked up to the counter after waiting 10 minutes did the cashier urgently ask the cook if he was working on my 2 simple items.

Additionally, the bean and cheese burrito had an abundance of beans, but needed more cheese, as it had all melted and clumped at one end of the burrito.

The salsa's are fine, but nothing extraordinary. It's an easy, and cheap, spot to stop by, but you'll likely have a better (and possibly a more affordable) experience down the street at some of the competitors closer to...
